TK-62000 requesting ANH Stunt EIB status ]689]

Recommended Posts

Hey Scott thank you for your patience and welcome to your EI review.

CRL and EIB Application Requirements:

It looks like all the required submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome trooper, congratulations!         :salute:

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:

In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a few areas to go over so let's do this shall we.

Starting from the top and working our way down, the Anovos helmet in it's original condition needs some TLC. A good majority of the Anovos applicants seen here were suggested to make the corrections we're about to discuss. Some will be required to be repaired before submitting for Centurion if you choose to do so. That being said, the accuracy is still ultimately up to the trooper.

1) If you look at the area around the teeth you'll notice some paint over spray. That will need to be removed. Our suggestion is to remove the over spray using paint thinner or equivalent, Do NOT use Acetone. Now unless you have an extremely steady hand this will undoubtedly effect he teeth. If it does it is best if you repaint the entire frown so that it matches.

Speaking of frown, with the ANH stunt the frown is to extend past the last tooth. You'll need to add this. Another good reason to repaint the frown.

Here's a couple reference photo.

2) Trap decals off center. The problem with mass producing sometimes is the lack of decent quality control. The decals need to be withing the helmet lines. If you take a look at the left trap you'll notice the decal is off center. Take a good look at all the traps. If any are similar you'll need to fix those as well. Note: If you have to fix one you might as well fix them all to match. You can buy a set of Dave M decals on TrooperBay.

3) The ear screws are incorrect type and should be replaced. They should be "V" style, flat head and slotted. You can find these on Trooperbay.

4) Rank bar trim line should extend to the face of the ear. Looks like Anovos cut this area a bit short. We're suggesting you add a bit more paint to the area to define the edge.

5) V-coder detail. Another issue is lack of detail on the vcoder. The outer lines should be well defined.

6) The final helmet issue are the Hovi tips screens, they're not accurate. The screen mesh should be more course.

7) Shoulder bell to chest/back plate gap. The ultimate goal is less gap between the sections as possible. Yours could be brought closer by tightening the connection straps and removing a good amount of the lower bell return edge.

8) Your waist belt is riding a bit low. It should reside at or just below the lowest ab button. You may need to make a mounting adjustment to correct this.

9) Cover strips extending past the edge of the armor. We're suggesting you trim back any cover strip extending past the end of the armor. It makes your armor look cleaner, help eliminate pinch points and from getting snagged on other items.

10) Back plate to kidney gap. There should be little to no gap between the two. Though yours is not too bad a simple strapping adjustment should do the trick.

11) Remove chest plate lower return edge. We're suggesting you remove the return edge tab at the end of your chest plate. Technically it shouldn't be there.

12) Posterior or butt plate should reside under the kidney. A strapping adjustment and or possibly reducing the lower posterior return edge may help as well.

Here's a reference photo giving you an idea of what were looking for.

Centurion Suggestions:

In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. We do have a couple areas that will need to be address before applying for Centurion if you choose to do so. An area of concern we have that is mandatory at Centurion is the drop box to ammo belt alignment. The CRL states... For level three certification (if applicable):

  • Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box.

Gluing the drop box strap to the cloth belt is the easiest way to remedy this.

Congratulations Scott, and welcome to the ranks of EIB!

With the determination and commitment that you showed throughout the process, it was always, only a matter of time.  ;)

Thank you, for that commitment, for putting in the extra work, and for joining the ranks.  You've definitely done your part to make the FISD (and the Legion by extension) look even better at every opportunity you have.

Great work, and a well-deserved honor!!!
