Pretzel Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 (edited) Hello fellow troopers!Just wanted to share an idea and wanted to verify with any seasoned troopers who have more experience in this department then I do. I am in the process of gathering pieces for my HWT and received a new belt and canvas belt for my HWT. I however need to make those 3 Square/Circular buttons on the belt itself.I have spare ABS, and my plan was to heat up the plastic and use a dime (u.s. currency) lol.. to indent the square to have a circular center. Is there any other way to create these buttons? Or is using the dime the best option? Thanks for the help! Here is my ANH Stunt belt for reference. Edited November 1, 2016 by Pretzel Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 I used a similar technique but heated up the end of a 10mm socket, easier to control in opinion. Came out quite nice 1 Quote
Pretzel Posted November 1, 2016 Author Report Posted November 1, 2016 Awesome. Thanks Tony, That does sound easier Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 My pleasure. If you go this route just be sure to test a couple different sockets as none are created equal. 1 Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 The only reservation I'd have about using an actual coin is that it might leave an impression of the coin's features in the heated plastic. If you have something on hand of similar size and shape but has a featureless surface (a rare earth magnet for instance), that might work better. Quote
