civitanom Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 looking at some buckets, and I saw a very nice Storm helmet but its made of Fiber glass, is this bad or good? looks well put togather along with the rest of the kit! Quote
Dark CMF[Staff] Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 I'd avoid fiberglass as a general rule. ABS is probably more durable in the event of a drop, and far simpler to repair should damage occur. Quote
civitanom Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 dang...it looked like a nice kit too...finding TIE Pilot helmets/kits is like pulling teeth. Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 A plastic (ABS) helmet is definitely preferable to fiberglass for the reasons Tim stated. In addition to their inherent fragility, they are heavy as hell. That, and fiberglass stormtrooper helmets are not accurate. The originals were made of vacuformed plastic. 1 Quote
