Deadpool[TK]
Sorry to dig this up. Can the counter box be removed?
Nagedzi[TK]
Yes, it can be removed. I didn't do it, but if you unscrew those two inner screws it should be no problem. It would leave a mortise-like slot that would need to be filled. You could then leave it off for a budget ESB or filming-damaged ANH. Nagedzi[TK]
I went down to my studio and removed the counter for you to take a pic. It's certainly fixable with some bondo and correcting of the scope rail line....
Deadpool[TK]
Yup just got one myself. There is enough room inside to run electronics....and they left a hole in the tip, maybe for an led at some point.
charlesnarles
Interesting... Anybody tried doing a hasbro-rubies transplant?
pac
I took the rubies as shown here. Split it, cut it in three lengths behind the magazine and at the rear of the fins. Added two inches over all. Removed the scope modified it and added a 1/2" aluminum scope rail. It turned out about 3/4" longer than a DD hasbro. Only down side is it has a very narrow feel to it. But it will work. If I have some time at work mañana I will post a pic. This was a difficult mod to be honest not a novice project.
