Boots for my TX

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I want to start on my greaves and my friend said I should get my boots first. I found some that I like but I am not sure that they are acceptable. This is my first set of armor and I want it to be perfect for acceptance into the 501st. Here is a link to the boots. Any help would be great. Thanks.

These are more accurate, and they cost less.

If by "TX" you mean Shadowtrooper, then you're lucky. You don't have to paint them.

I got my boots a couple days ago and they look great. I'm also a TX, but I have to paint these red for my Magma Trooper.

I know. It's just that I like to get my questions out to as many people as possible, just in case there's more than one answer.

I think I might have a higher post count here than on Spec Ops...

Sorry about posting the same thing on multiple pages. I look at it as the wider the audience you ask the more likely you are to get the right answer.....not that a lot of people are wrong.....I am just going to shut up now and stop digging myself a hole.

Nah, dude. We've got the right idea. He's only messin' around...   :D

...I hope!  -_-

Keep postin' man! That's what the forums are here for!

Don't let something as trivial as the color of your armor deter you from hanging around here. Me and my red self feel welcome at the FISD. Everything you need to know about your TX you can learn right here.

Thanks man I appreciate that. I hate just posting. I always feel I am going to tick someone off. I know that those Bass Amsterdam are cheaper but I have read more bad reviews then good reviews on them. Will the boots I mentioned pass? If they are passible I don't care if they cost a little more as long as they are good. A yes or no answer is what I would like.

People here are generally pretty friendly and accepting of all who show up. At least that's the impression got. People building black, red, green, purple, polka dot, tye-dye, or any other color armor are free to use the forums to their full extent.

Now good luck getting your hands on the right boots!!

I have heard of many instances where the Bass Amsterdams have been accepted. Don't quote me on this, but I think Expert Infantry is a *maybe* but I'm not sure about Centurion. I'm going off what I've read in other topics. In your case (being a TX), you'd have to ask the folks at Spec Ops to see if they'd be clearable for Specialist.

I don't think the boots you have listed will be approved for base 501st membership. You'd be better off with the Bass Amsterdams, but if you want to get really accurate, you could find a pair of Loakes. But those are ridiculously expensive. My $0.02

General assembly or armor related things Id ask here, but when it's TX-specific, spec ops is the way to go.

Do you not see the ugly seam on the front of the ones you posted? That's what makes them unapprovable. The bass' are slightly more triangular in shape than Chelseas but since boots are so limited these days they still pass for specialist.

Don't skimp on the boot price. It's enough to want to save money on a cheap pair just to pass for basic approval but you'll want quality and comfort that comes with pricier kicks. keep in mind you'll be walking around for at least a few hours in them

I fully agree on choosing good quality footwear, for numerous reasons, but the primary ones being comfort and durability:-)

Bass Amsterdam has been deemed passable for EIB here on FISD, but no go for Centurion......

I would recommend anyone to find better shoes, and if price is an issue, then used handcrafted, goodyear welted leathersoled shoes can be found on ebay at less than 50 £. Loake 290s are always a good choice....:-))
