Laspector[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 I am currently doing some mods to my armor's shoulder straps and I need to remove some industrial strength velcro. I am planning to use goo gone on it but am worried that if it gets anywhere it's not supposed to be--will it remove the gloss? I have the old FX armor. Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 I've used GooGone on my armor (AM/RT/TM mash-up), I've never had any problems. Like E6000, it's pretty benign stuff. At the worst, it leaves an oily film that you simply wash off with soap and water. Quote
Necron[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 I too have used Goo Gone on my armor with no bad effects. Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 It is always best to err on the side of caution and test it in an unsaeen area of your armor like under the crotch snap. Quote
Griffin-X[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) I use Goo-Gone a lot and then use Novus polish to clean and shine it. Mostly I use it for paint cleanups. However, for ABS glue or Velcro glue cleanup I use Goof-Off instead. Edited February 24, 2012 by Griffin-X Quote
