Apone Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 What would i use to remove some excess paint on my FX helmet? suggestions? Quote
Scott M.[TK] Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 What are you removing? If you are working on the frown, I would suggest a very fine sandpaper and Novus polish. Use the sandpaper to remove the paint, then the Novus to smooth out the scratches from the sandpaper. Quote

TK-2126_MD[TK] Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 if it is small amounts of paint, what worked for me awwesome was, applying small amounts of rubbing alcohol on the paint (edges) and lightly rub with a tooth pick, paint peels off nice and neat and u can make good lines. GRANTED i havee only used spraypaint and my helmet is abs..... so use with caution... Scotts idea sounds better, but thats what i did. Quote
TK4205 Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 When it comes to paint, It's different strokes for different folks. get it? paint-strokes? er um anyway moving right along; Whatever you use remember if it removes paint, it removes plastic. Like Ed mentioned, Novus is good. You might mask your painted area so you don't get overbuff. I've also used an exacto to gently scrape away any unwanted paint. I did this on my RTmod frown and got a very clean edge. Quote
