Hi all,

My name is Patrick. I am new to the forum. I am from Ohio and I am really excited to get into Trooping soon. But before I do, I need to make sure I get the right armor. I have been studying the posts and the various armor suppliers. I am stuck between RT-Mod and AM. I understand that both fit larger and taller people, but I want to make sure the armor I purchase will cover me in the right places length wise as well. I am 6'-3" and around 240lbs. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Hey Pat. :) I know that feeling! :D

Yeah, RT-Mod and AM definitely are your best bets. AM is a little less screen accurate but I think it is bigger than the RT, not sure on that though.

DarthAloha has a really really good RT-MOD build thread, and so does Pandatrooper. Both are pinned in the ANH Build threads section, try checking them both out for a bit of a comparison. :)

At that size, I'd definitely take a close look at Darth Aloha's RT Mod build thread. :)

You're basically my size... I'm a little bit taller. I'd go with the RT. I hate to sound like an armor douche but I think the RT looks better than AM and you'll have way less to trim. I also think RT is more suited (ha) to taller troopers but I've also never seen AM in person.

My waist was a 40 when I took thoe pics in my build thread and that's about as big as the kit will go and still have the sides come together. But it will still fit me the more beer I end up drinking over time.

It may take a while for Rob to ship you your armor.... But it's worth the wait. Plus... There's a ton of retail therapy to be had in the mean time.

Have a hard think about the RT helmet. I love mine to death but yearn for a screen derived lid. For a symmetrical idealized fan sculpt it can't be beat. And it comes assembled so you can focus on other build related things.

PM me or post if you have specific RT questions as you're trying to decide. And post pics when you start your build.

Aloha!
