AlaskanSalmonTrooper[501st] Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Can anyone point me in a direction to get replacement shoulder straps for my AP armor. Also looking for a better more durable fix for them. I have glued with E6000 to the upper front chest and using velcro to lay over the back plate. I did shape them with heat gun prior to gluing them. The plastic bends the wrong direction at times when I am wearing and the plastic is starting to crack, breaking is going to happen with more usage and wear. Does anyone know what I am trying to describe and maybe offer solution, at minimum I will need replacement pieces for each one of the shoulder straps. Help?? thanks in advance. Quote

You might be able to repair them by adding a pre bent backing piece of plastic and gluing it in with plastic weld. Quote
matt black Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Also don't use velcro to fix them to the back plate. Just let them free float at the back. This way they can move about and never be under stress or presure. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 if you keep the trimming correct they are really strong! best to have them float free, but you can take the stress off the shoulder straps by connecting your shoulder bells together with a long strap, and removing the snaps to the bells from the straps. this is a more screen accurate way of internal strapping. I'd make the strap out of webbing with a buckle adjustment, to allow for exact positioning. Quote
