What thickness ABS to use on side shims?

Recommended Posts

Hello and a very happy new year to you all. While I am waiting for my AP kit to arrive I have been getting everything ready to start the build. Would it be best to use a thin sheet of ABS (say like 1mm) for shimming the AB and back sections? Also, any tips on where to get some in the U.K.

All the best,

Rob.

I have an ABS suit (.093) but opted to use .060 Styrene for my ab plate shims. The colour actually matched up pretty well and I found that the thinner and, therefore, more flexible material works better in this area. So your idea of 1mm ABS would probably work well. Unfortunately, being in the US I can't help you with where to obtain it in the UK though mate.

Cheers!

Rob
