My side plates are riveted to my Kidney plate, and attach with velcro to the ab plate like yours. I however have the straps going from the chest to backplate on the sides under the arms. Mine are pretty much right under the arm cut on the chest and straight back. that way they dont go over the sideplates and become visable. I used to also have the problem of the Ab popping over the chest. i think it was cuz of my lil belly lol i remedied that with elasti straps that attach from behind the chest and attach to the top of the ab plate.
