SamJ[501st] Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Ok, I got my 1943 M38 scope today. Unfortunately I don't have a clue as to how to get this off the mount so I can actually mount it on a blaster. I know I have to undo the screws but I can't get at them at the minute, So could someone please tell me how? Thanks Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 (edited) yeah. there is a spring on one side. decompress the bar and release the spring. then you will have a metal clip to remove with pliars. then you will be able to get to the bottom of the scope and release both screws. save the screws for your scope rail. they fit perfectly. --------- you move the bar on the spring at the red arrow, and the assembly will swivel allowing the base screws to be removed along the blue arrow. when you remove the pressure from the spring assembly, you will have to remove the cotter pin holding the spring on one end. remove the spring assembly and the mount will swivel. SamJ[501st] Posted July 9, 2010 Author Report Posted July 9, 2010 Thanks a lot Vern, seriously. You've been a great help to me when it's come to explaining parts. Makes me want to build something white next (well after the white TS). Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 well, I owe it to this detachment to have the scope itself, so passing along the solution to the problem was very fun to grab the scope base off my desk and snap a photo. Quote
