Welcome back!!

Welcome from South Florida!! I am still quite the newb myself.

Intresting!!!! has the snap ever poped? why did u go with one snap and not 2 or more?? Intresting i think i will be doing some mods ...
Thats very similar to how mine is set up and I have had no issues as of yet. I have used heavy duty marine canvas snaps, they are very strong. The only thing I did differently was I decided to install abs sheets into my canvas belt to make it stronger and then attach it to my ab piece, i was too worried it would slide down during troops.

Welcome aboard Mike, you will find all the help you need here, for sure.

I am interested in the Stomper Mic tips
Damn just missed that lol.
I would be interested as well if he does not take them but I am sure he will.

Nice armor, looks very sharp, great job you did there.

Looking good man and congratulations!!

Congrats on the degree (it felt like many years to get my BA but looking back, it went sooo fast) and on the very nice bucket, I would love to have something like that in my house.

I was away for the last Star Wars Weekend and when I get home, there are my new gloves waiting for me, thanks Smitty!!!

Heavy duty marine snaps (used for attaching canvas on boats) have worked very well for me. The center shank on them is deeper than most snaps and they are very strong, I picked up a box of them at a West Marine store near me, I did the same as everybody else with the two snaps and elastic strap, works great.

Now all you need is a Dewback, an Imperial dropship, and a Death Star in the background.
David.
That's not a bad idea, maybe i'll work on that next lol.

I was showing a friend one of your pics, since that desert shoot was a great back drop, comparing an FX bucket to AP. I loved this pic and I photoshopped it a bit to show him and figured I would post it back up here, I hope you don't mind.
into this;
again, great pics. I wish I had something like that near here for some pics when I get my TD finished, guess i'll have to settle for beach sand instead lol.

Great pics and what a great location, I can't believe after all these years there is still debris from that out there.
........ and the Snowtrooper is definitely lost lol.

I see, thanks for the reply..do you know how i can get in contact with the TE2 armor provider?
You have a pm again.

You have a pm.

Are you using a washer on the back side of the rivet? I could see it pulling out without one, but with a washer, that would be one really tough pull!!!
I would agree with this, I have seen many rivets pull through different plastics, like ABS, etc.. with no backing washer. A fellow trooper in my garrison had a rivet pull through on his FX knee plate and that is a pretty good fit but it had no back washer. I understand you are saying they are way off but a little heat and a deep enough rivet with a back washer should make a difference.

Paypal sent for the large pair of gloves Smitty.
Thanks again bro.

Lookin' good man, I'd take the lid over the beach myself, but I live 5 mins from the beach here in South Florida, so that's not really an issue lol.

Hey Stomper, I would like ONE pair of Two-Tone Non-Speaker Hovi mics.
Thank you.
Actually now Stomper, I would like to make it TWO pairs of the Two-Tone, Non-Speaker, Hovi mics, when you get back to making them.
Thank you.

I think you need to watch Empire Strikes Back again .
Welcome to the FISD.
Hahaha agreed.
Speaking as another new guy, just take a look around the site, there is SO MUCH information here and everybody is really helpful. I have learned so much in such a short time and it has really helped me along, my TK is almost finished.

Congrats man.

That is what I am leaning toward as well. I want to glue the top of the forearms, front of the shins and thighs, since these are most visible to others. I have seen it done velcro on both sides and I like the glued look better, much tighter where the plastic is together.
-
Good stuff to know in here. While I want my suit to look pretty accurate, my biggest concern is trooping, I don't want to break stuff but I do want it to look nice. I will glue one side of the shins, thighs and forearms and velcro the backs for now as the other problem I have is I am still losing weight. I am currently down to 225 and am looking to get back to 200lbs. so if I velcro I can still have some adjustment and if I choose to glue the backs of the thighs later, I can just remove the velcro.
Thanks for everyone's input.

I believe you are referring to the Dewback rider's handplates, they had the bumpy handplates if memory serves.
