  1. Hey Troops, I was at a managers conference for Game Crazy in Vegas this past week and at the Sony dinner they talked about the limited edition STAR WARS PSP and when they announced it the music started and two Troopers and a Vader came out and walked on stage and Vader force choked the speaker and snatched the PSP out of the guys hands. It was very cool and all 700 of us managers turned into bigger Geeks for a few minutes. They received a standing ovation. I was bummed out cause I didn't have my camera at dinner but after dinner we went to the Sony game room and they were in there so I borrowed someones camera and snapped this photo. I had already had a couple drinks in me but I met the trooper on the left (TK-1287 Andy), very cool guy and the first Trooper I have met in person. Curtis

  9. Hey Troops, Here it is.... Sorry it took so long but I had to find someone to take pictures of me. Thanks Mom Curtis
  10. Thats exactly right Jez, The first site I came across after the 501st site was TK-300's (Tony Barnett) and that site made me decide that I was going to get a set of armor. Then I came across Star Wars Helmets and on that site I decided that I was going to get the GF/AP Kit. Then finally I found a home at the FISD This has been the only forum based site that everyone is willing to help each other and give support, Very Cool. The above sites that are mentioned are bookmarked along with a few others such as Dave's Videos on You Tube, MEPD, TK-409 and my fellow Southern California Garrison troopers site. All of these sites have given me much needed and helpful information. It has taken me 3 months to put together my armor and helmet with a couple of hours a night, but I am very happy with the results of taking my time. Curtis
  11. Lesson learned Curtis
  12. Hey Troops, I'd thought I would show you the Skullworx kit and the mic mod I had to do with it. My AP helmet is small so there isn't much room for electronics much less my head... The kit came with a non powered, rather cheap computer headset/mic which has been cut up and separated into a mic with an earphone and a earphone on the other side, both of which are to big for my helmet when I am putting it on. The kit also came with some faucet tips wrapped with elect. tape just like the ones that came with my kit, but with speakers installed. I've replaced them with the Hovi-Mix tips and speakers from Stomper and they sound much better. I found this unidirectional powered mic headset from R.S. and just cut the mic with boom off the headset. This mic has a lot less feedback than the other one and I will be able to mount it in the chin. The biggest challenge is installing everything in my bucket and then be able to take it on and off. Almost done modding the batting helmet liner to fit more comfortable also. Curtis
  13. Hey Al, Here are pics of both sides as requested. Curtis
  14. Hey JT, I lined up the front first, trimmed a little off the bottom front and then glued the front like on Daves videos. After that I put a couple of small pieces of velcro on the back and then trimmed the back so it was even. To be honest I spent a good 6-7 hrs. sanding and trimming all the pieces of the calf/shins until I was happy with them, but I figured the most important thing was to line up the front of them and then worry about the back. Hope that helps, Curtis
  15. Thanks JT, Yeah I just drilled out the premarked holes on the helmet. Since the helmet is asymmetrical and you do notice it more when the helmet is put together, you have to apply your decals so it makes it look more even. Curtis
  16. Thanks Chef, More to come.. Curtis
  17. Thanks Felixx, I received my Skullworx kit a month ago and have tested it outside of the helmet and it works good. I will see how it sounds when I put it into the helmet in the next day or two after I fit the liner in. The AP helmet is small, I can barely get my head through the opening. I'm sure I will have to mod the batting helmet liner a bit to make it fit right. Curtis
  18. Skullworx kit is a electronics kit with fans, mic & speakers all in one kit. Its not as good as the Bomar kit that TK-4205 is creating which I plan to get one of those Bomars for my TE Hero helmet when I get it. The Skullworx kit is good. The only thing I changed is I replaced the speaker mic tips with the set of Hovi-Mix with speakers that I got from Stomper. Curtis
  19. Thanks Paul, Now I can submit my 501st photos and you can give me the good access. Curtis
  20. Hey Troops, I've finished my helmet, just have to install the liner and skullworx kit. Here are some pics of the helmet project. Till next time, Curtis
  21. Thanks Scott, In my opinion I think individuality in everyones armor is what makes your armor exactly that, your own(up to a limit of course) As I've been watching A New Hope more often lately for reference(a lot of pausing) I noticed how different all of the actors armor were from one another. Plus your friends can spot you better in a crowd Curtis
  22. Very,Very Nice...... Curtis
  23. Thanks Bigturc, I think that config. will look better on my AP bucket to. Curtis
  24. Hey Troops, I was just wondering if there was a standard on how many blue tube stripes to apply to your bucket? Cause most of the forums say 13 and all of the decals that come with the kits have 13, but when I look at starwarshelmets.com some of the real helmets had 11 and some of them had 12. I was just curious plus the decals I have for my helmet will fit better if I only use 12. Thanks, Curtis
  25. Looking good Chef! You can open the first Big and Tall Stormtrooper Store Curtis
