  1. I'm a current TK that's looking to get replacement armor (after 4 years, my old FX armor is starting to take its toll). Saw this site and they claim to be ' also known as the 'Shepperton'. My guess is it's a recast of SDS? Anyone know? The price seems to be too good to be true if it's a real SDS. http://www.stormtroo...r_costumes.html Thanks! Joe
  2. I found something that worked for me (standard skullworx kit in an MRCE helmet)! The ultimate fix: 1) remove the foam from the boom mic. 2)Place a piece of tape over the back part of the mic (the part facing out towards the helmet, opposite from the part you actually speak into). 3) Replace foam I found that the feedback was being caused by the omni-directional mic. The boom mic actually has 2 microphones (if you take the foam off, 1 on the front and one on the back): one by your mouth, and one on the back of this. Because of the confined space, the mic was actually sitting too close to the plastic of the helmet, which was createing the feedback. After taping the mic facing the helmet (essentially creating a uni-directional microphone) I tested with the skullworx amp and was able to turn it up just about all the way without feedback! I did some slight modifications and replaced the skullworx amp with a TCI. Again, I was able to bring it up to almost full volume with little to no feedback!
  3. I originally started with a hard-hard liner in my MRCE, and while it was ok, I often had to re-glue the parts after 1 or 2 troops. I recently moved to this, and after 4 or so troops, it's still intact and works very well (also keeps the helmet from turning when I move my head). --------
  4. Hey all- So, I'm looking for a new E11 holster. There are a bunch of posts here, but some are quite old, so I'm not sure if some of them are even valid anymore. The deal is: I have 1 holster from my FX kit: it's right sided and incredibly thick leather: my kitted hasbro won't fit - so in the back of the closet it stays. I bought another (inexpensive) holster off ebay: left handed, but the material is quite flimsy, so my the top of my blaster causes the entire hoster to perform Cirque Du Soleil acts (i.e. it tips horizontal )...often causing the blaster to fall out. With that - anyone know of any sources (or members that currently make/sell) left sided holsters that are not paper thin and can support a hasbro? Thanks!
  5. i have the same issue with my skullworx-so youre definately not alone! i think it's due to the fact that the boom mic sits so close (at the frown) to the speakers (in the hovi tips) I've played around with moving the mic but no luck. I think the next step is to somehow put some deadening material behind the speakers, but i havent figured that part out just yet
