  1. I guess I can understand that. But I was thinking for the kids that maybe have trouble warming up to us that this might be a way to show them we aren't scary, we are human. Something to lighten the mood depending on the event being trooped at. I said this same joke at a troop today to different people and kids and event their parents got a kick out of it. I don't see the harm in a little fun every once and a while
  2. So I saw a video of some Stormtroopers telling Star Wars "dad jokes" and puns, and I think this would be a amazing thing to say to children and such at troops! Do others do this? If so what are some of your favorites to say? The favorite one I saw in the video was: "Why did the Jedi cross the road?" "To get to the darkside"
  3. I’m still surprised that he’s on the list and I also believe that he should no longer be on it. Everyone in Carolina Garrison knows Jason and from what I can tell and what I’ve heard from other members, he’s a genuine stand up guy. He has donated several of the kits he makes for many different community and charity reasons including a raffle done this week to raise money to support our CO who’s had a family emergency recently. I even bought a replacement hand plates from him because the used kit I bought from someone else was missing one. And it looks great! If I ever get any armor in the future, like Tie Pilot or Gunner, it’s going to be from Intergalactic Supply! (Also as a heads up, he sometimes is hard to reach in Facebook DMs because he’s just busy. He told me best way to get his attention is send it in morning time and send gentle nudge reminders if he misses it or forgets. I’m giving this heads up as I know scam sellers “avoid” DMs sometimes so I could see how it would appear like that especially since he’s been falsely put on this list, but he’s genuinely just busy and forgets)
  4. Hello! TK - 23454 requesting FISD Access! Just got approved for ANH Stunt! https://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=36136&costumeID=71
  5. @FN1313 So I think the shins are fine? So from you picture you sent, look at the arrows I drew and how the left side of the right shin dips down, and the right side of the left shin is more flat. I believe my shins are the same?
  6. Also a question, can I trim down/sand down the return edges of the shin armor?
  7. Thermal Detonator Also came as is and I haven't done anything to it. I wore it in a previous test fitting so I'll post that picture again. (I've done more to the armor since I took this picture, as seen above, just posting to show TD)
  8. Helmet This came as is and I haven't done anything to it. I think it was an anovos built one. The previous owner added some padding and a battery pack and helmet fans.
  9. Hey Chemi! Thanks for the feedback! I'll defiantly sand down more of the return edge of the shoulder bell then, that should hopefully help. I agree that the buttons could use a lighter blue paint. I got the paint from another member who also had stormtrooper armor but when I put it on, it was defiantly a darker blue then the reference. And there are some silver button parts I know need to be painted white Also how would I close the gap between the kidney and abdomen armor? Also in the picture you circled in red, so when I put it on, the thigh armor was going over the sniper knee. How would I improve that besides raising the thigh armor because I don't think it can go higher. I'll also post some pictures now of the helmet and TD. I had put the TD on in a previous fitting pictures I posted, before I added the other parts of the belt though.
  10. Also I realized after the fact that I forgot to put the thermal detonator on
  11. Basically, how far off am I from trooping?
  12. So I've made more progress tonight These aren't submittal pictures btw. Just wanted to get feedback on here. To be honest I was quite frustrated with how it turned out. Besides it being uncomfortable and very difficult to put on. It just feels and looks off. The shoulder bells seem to be too narrow for my arms and the upper arm armor. I'm guessing that because of the box it was stored in for who knows how long they were pressed together, is there any way to make the wider so they don't stick out as much?
  13. Thanks y’all! So I measured and trimmed the right side to make it more even. That helped as well with readjusting and lining it up better with the middle cover strip of the shin. I’ve added the glue and clamps. As I’m writing this now, I’ve forgotten the tape for extra support I can add that later when I get home. I do have like 5 clamps on it so it’ll probably be fine. I also trimmed down and sanded the inner part of the thighs which helps significantly with reducing armor bite when I tried them on.
  14. It's also hard to get touching surface area between the knee and the armor. Also is the left side of the knee piece supposed to be longer then the right? because I also can't get it to line up evenly on both sides without it messing up alignment with the middle cover strip
  15. So here's what it looks like clamped. However, I don't like how wide it is, but that's the only way I can get it to line up. Glue has not been added yet.
  16. Real quick, does anyone have a guide or way they've riveted the snipper knee. Not a snap rivet, the other kind that longer and thin. Reason I think its better to rivet instead of glue is because the shin itself was assembled wide so I can't get enough surface area to glue it down. The guy I worked with before also noted this and said it needed to be riveted. I know that isn't allowed for level 2 and 3 approval, but I'm aiming for basic. I can post pictures after dinner if needed.
  17. So I just got an ImperialArms E-11 Blaster and was wondering, what is the best way to store and transport it? Like what do you use to bring it to trooping events?
  18. Thank you! Yeah putting on the full armor I felt more like a protocol droid then a stormtrooper XD So some fine tuning will definitely be needed
  19. Update! Got some major progress done today! Still much more to do, but I feel like I'm almost at the finish line Still to do: Add closure method for shins Attach Sniper Knee Attach belt plastic front bit thingy Attach plastic shoulder straps Adjust strapping on the connecting sides Attach strapping from thigh armor to abdomen/cod piece armor Adjust strapping on shoulder bells (I have no idea why they are sticking up so much?) Attach holster
  20. Good news! The one's from Walmart work! They specifically said 5/8" on them which was helpful! Maybe I'll upgrade them in the future if there is an issue but for now this is what I'll use
  21. The "test piece" I brought btw is one of the nylon strips that has a female snap attached to it. The reason I'm using this as a test is because I know it fits the Tandy male snaps already on the abdomen armor.
  22. So um, bad news. I couldn't find the snaps at either stores. Well, I found snaps at Michaels but they only had two sizes and neither were the right size because they wouldn't fit the test piece that I brought with. The Michaels I went to also had only a small leather section where the snaps were. Hobby Lobby had more leather working stuff but even less snaps all were also smaller. I saw Walmart had snaps so I'll check there next if not I might order Tandy online. Probably not the best quality at Walmart but I need a right size for the abdomen armor. I'd be worried about removing and replacing them and damaging the armor.
  23. That's good to know! I was actually going to go to Hobby Lobby this morning and see if they had snaps but now I'll check Michaels first!
  24. Thank you so much! So I have Male Bases and Male snaps, which makes more sense. That means I need to get Female Bases and Snaps. Also the only snap I have which is branded is the two on the abdomen armor. They say Tandy on them so I imagine they are 5/8" sized which is exactly what I needed to know!
  25. So the used kit came with a good bit of snaps already which is good. However, they only seem to be Male Snaps and Female Bases according to this picture from the SNAP Setting 101 page that was linked. However, they seem to be two different sizes. From the strapping kit that came with it, the female snaps fit all the male snaps in the baggie as well as the male snaps that the person already attached to the lower abdomen piece. However those male snaps outside the baggie don't connect to the female snaps, they are smaller but by a minuscule difference to where they don't fit but to a naked eye you have no idea. When I put snaps on the belt, I want them to be able to fit the snaps already on the lower abdomen armor. So question is, how do I buy the right snap size?
