    DN/Anovos/RS

OK brilliant that is useful information. However, as mentioned above eFx had access to the archives for the Boba Fett helemt. This is from a FB post on the same topic. As a response to someone who says the Anovos is RS recast; no, thats false. The Anovos TK was laser scanned from pieces in the archives, then the digital files were cleaned somewhat and sharpened (the thinner plastic they used also contributed somewhat to the sharper look of their suits). I was in the original pre-order group for the first batch at $350, and Anovos sent us regular "behind the scenes" development emails about the process of bringing the tk to market. The teeth, just for example, are totally different between the rs and anovos buckets, and look like two different original helmets are the respective sources

Ummm, well...im not sure it does. Lucas Films own the archive. DIsney own Lucas Films. Therefore Disney own the archive. Or are you suggesteing that the $4.5 billion deal somehow excluded the warehouse holding all the screen used props?

    DN/Anovos/RS

Ok thanks, the Anovos is clearly not a RS recast. No doubt RS make arguably the best gear but man, there aint half a bit of fanatical fanboyism about this producer, the claim that a licensed manufacturer ripped them off is a good example of this.

    DN/Anovos/RS

Hello peeps, So i think like many people here I am a little obsessed with Stormtroopers and i am fascinated with the story of how the various helmets came to be. I was looking at the Anovos/DN helmet and thought ok, looks nice. Then on another platform people started claiming that Anovos recast a RS Propmasters bucket. This seems incredibly implausible to me. Why on earth would a licensed, approved manufacturer, with (I assume) access to the TK lids in the Lucas Archives to 3D scan, why would these guys rip off an unauthorised builder like RS? Makes absolutely no sense to me. Îve just been looking at the 2 side by side and im not convinced. The RS is clearly lineage, it has all the classic bumps and irregularities from the original screen used, im not disputing that (even though i am slightly miffed why RS arent proudly displaying what is apparently the ONLY ANH surviving armour...like wouldnt you want to show it off? The Anovos/DN on the otherhand is clearly symetrical. That fact alone tells me this was NOT cast from RS, which is obviously asymetrical. Those are the conclusions ive come to. If anyone does believe Anovos recast a RS PM then please point me in the direction of some sort of evidence, because as i say, ive been comparing the 2 very closely and i just dont see it. Thanks!! Hope i havent opened a can of worms
  5. Hiya Wow i found this today - http://www.sciencefictionarchives.com/en/collections/124/original-stormtrooper-costume-from-star-wars-episode-iv-a-new-hope Wish they had more pics. Thats a new one at least for me...! Cheers Neil
  6. Brilliant thanks guys lots of useful info there!
  7. Ok thats interesting thanks. But as TFA had a totally different trooper design, how could it be that the R1 took bits from TFA...? Are there any links to further info about the R1 trooper, im curious how they actually built/produced them. You would have thought take armour from LFA, 3d scan it, then injection moulded, I can't imagine they would have been vac formed...but thats just speculation!
  8. Ok thank you. I remember reading somewhere that the Rogue One helmets were not very well regarded amongst troopers, is that true and why so?
  9. Thanks! So if you think its not from the movie, where do you think its from? Maybe a scene from Rogue One? Im not so up to date with recent movies so I don't really know where it could be from. Cheers!
  10. Hi Saw this on pinterest and i just LOVED it, gorgeous picture! Does anyone know where it is from? I thought a still from ANH Moss Eisley scene? Thanks! Neil
  11. Hello! A few years ago i decided i wanted to build a full size stormtrooper helmet using basically card, glue, wallpaper paste, and whatever else seemed usable. I have a background in design (I did Furniture design at uni) so i am pretty skilled with my hands. I knew it would be a serious challenge, I wasnt wrong! So i started with a small prototype I suppose, which was more really to check out materials and build methods. You can see this build here: https://www.therpf.com/forums/threads/my-anh-trooper-from-scratch-build.269715/ So then I started my full size attempt. I'll just post the images, i think they show how this build progressed. A very steep learning curve! But basically by the final pic, which was about a months work, i decided nah, i wasnt happy - and decided to start again!! So this was attemp #1. More to follow! Cheers
  12. Great, thank you very much
  13. Great many thanks. Talking of RS Props, are there any images anywhere of their actual screen used suit? Thanks!
  14. Hello! This is an absolute goldmine: Are there any more images from the LFA out there? Does anyone know exactly what they have? It looks like they have a Sandtrooper, a Hero and one or two stunts, is that correct? Thanks!!
  15. OK great ill check him out! I just LOVE building, I think im pretty well clued up about helmets but armour is a whole new ball game Thank you, I checked them out couldnt see any images of their stuff sadly. But its got me thinking...! Thank you! As i said i will make a thread sometime about the full size one I almost finished, except it wasnt full size! Its about 10-15% too small. That was a bummer, after all the work i did. I had no helmet of any kind, i was just going off images and i found a post by Space Cowboy no less, who did the pep files a lot of people use, and he said a helmet is roughly 12x12x12...i figured he would know! I walked past a shop in London that had an Anovos in the window and i knew immediately mine was too small. Id love to see this other helmet you mention, is there a thread here? Cheers!
  16. Thanks for the welcome guys! My dream would be to sculpt>produce moulds>vac form>assemble>501 approval full armour but as I'm sure you are aware that is a very, very long road. But a fun one!! Has anyone here done such a thing? Cheers :)
  17. Thanks, glad to be here
  18. Good afternoon TKs, Ive been a builder/maker for about 6 years now, building from scratch with card, glue, bondo etc...I did post a thread of my very first prototype at therfp but it didnt get much interest, but it gives an ideas of what i get up to - https://www.therpf.com/forums/threads/my-anh-trooper-from-scratch-build.269715/ After that build I set about doing a full size helmet using similar methods, i think I worked on and off for 18 months on that (I work very, very slowly!). Will do a thread about it sometime. Sadly no plans to joing the 501st but i think its a brilliant thing. I am literally a little short for a stormtrooper, i would look totally daft! I am rather obsessed with stormtroopers, particularly ANH, particularly helmets. I have a few interesting projects lined up and id love feedback/input as i go along. Ok thanks for having me MTBer
