  1. Home Stretch: Nylon straps and foam liner: Don’t ask me how because I fought with this thing and broke out a sweat and had to take a break and come back to it... I got the pipe secured with machine screws, washers and lock nuts: I have the wipes container secured with machine screws, washers and lock nuts and the siphon riveted to the oil pan base. Pain in the an impolite person but I finally got it and it looks like it’ll hold up well: The remainder of the boxes I’m just E6000-omg to the base, weights holding them down: All that’s left for this is a wash to weather it a touch and the enamel spray sealer. 2. No I haven’t, was going to work on that tonight. Great advice, thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I had a few beers tonight and was just not happy stopping for the night so I got to “battle weathering” the parts to this pack a little. Used metallic silver testors with a dry-ish brush technique... let me know [emoji2371] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. This thing is looking like it’s almost ready to be assembled. I’d like to get a few more paint touch ups, some matte spray enamel to protect the paint surfaces, and figure out the straps. I’m looking at possibly just gluing the boxes to the base, riveting the siphon and wipes container, and screws for the tube... definitely more research or advice will help. Thanks all! Also planning on adding some padding to the back of the base where it’ll rest against the TK back armor. We’ll see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I’m thinking about using a spray satin or “varnish” on all the painted surfaces on the backpack to help improve durability. Anyone have any thought on this? Or other variant? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Got my funnel siphon assembled, riveted, and painted: Got the vent box “vented”: Screws installed on the other boxes and the backs glued and clamped: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hit em with more WIP pics! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I finally got my box tupper ware in from Amazon... prepped the oil pan for its new real estate: Drop siphon: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Almost ready to paint this radio and canister: Touch ups needed here after I took the tape off: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Congrats! Build looks good!!
  11. Congrats!! And welcome!
  12. Just wondering if anyone ever goes HWT full time? What occasions for trooping or otherwise would there be a need for another shiny TK versus having a HWT present? Some of the battle wearing options I’ve come across are easier to clean up than others so I’m just curious who cleans up and goes back and forth and for what occasions or who goes dirty all the time? Thanks!
  13. Wow thank you so much Mike!! This was worth the wait! I really appreciate the feedback and can’t wait to get started on them. Thanks to everyone else who had a hand in this build! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Okay I spent some time attempting to improve these teeth. Please let me know if these are acceptable or else I can attend to them a little more. Thank you! I took a pic with flash and without to show a contrast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Getting a few coats in while hurricane prepping: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Almost finished with my new belt and getting started on this backpack. I have all the necessary parts and paints and just have to find time to finish this thing! Adding the buttons over the rivets: Some materials and reading: Some work on the radio box glue up: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Hip and shoulder mag pouches arrived yesterday! Slowly but surely! Just need to get this pack done now... Leather work by Anthony Bailey [emoji1320][emoji1305] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. HWT build thread was started under main forum. Was moved to appropriate HWT build sub-forum. Please delete original, thank you!
  22. I have an AM kit and love how it fits. I’m 6’4” 230lbs and there’s minor areas that I’m not ever going to be 100% satisfactory, but when you make it yourself, you know every inch of your armor and are constantly critical. The guys at AM are extremely helpful and their customer service is great! They are proud of their product.
  23. Original post discontinued and moved to Sub-Forum. My error, please forgive! Welcome all. So I’ve discovered this new addiction. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this as well. So I’m only a handful of troops in and I’m already trying to upgrade, add ons, and looking at other builds. I’m looking to add more of a variety for trooping so I’m happy that the HWT makes that a possibility. I’m currently very close to what’s needed for my ANH Stunt TK EIB submission so I figured I’d order a few things and post up as they come in and some WIP on my DIY backpack. (Thanks again UKSWrath!) I’m either as tall as or taller than several of the Vader’s in my squad and there’s quite a noticeable height difference among myself and some other TKs as well so I’m hoping the extra bulk will help fill me out more and hopefully live up to the “heavy” in HWT. Thanks! Ordered: Orange Pauldron (TrooperBay) DLT19 (Praetorian) New Canvas Belt (TrooperBay) Oil catch pan for backpack

  25. Is the thermal detonator still required? It looks like there is zero room left on your belt for one while wearing the pack.
