  1. I had my shoulder snaps fail on a troop and had to get creative. I finally broke down and taught myself how to sew on snaps and I’m very happy with them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. TK Troop 14: 10/19/2019 Walt Disney World: Shades of Green resort Quinceañera ballroom event. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Repurposed DLT-19 carrying case? I think so! A little black to paint over the camo and whammo. Also a new home for patches! Black is always tactical even with white armor! The butt stock sticks out a little when fully zipped up but better than carrying it around by itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. TK Troop (Lucky) 13: 10/18/2019 AdventHealth Orlando for Children: Walt Disney Pavilion Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. TK Troop 12: 10/16/2019 UCF Star Wars Class: 501st Legion invited as Guest speakers. Debuted my HWT TK today! This was one of my favorite troops. It was an opportunity to take off our buckets to the public for folks to ask more personal questions and to speak a little bit about each of our own personal journey when it comes joining and trooping in the 501st. A UCF professor had put together a Star Wars class this semester and had requested that members of the 501st Legion come speak about our mission and personal experiences. His class was structured like an English class and was taught from the prospective of breaking things down culturally, mythologically, and how the movies have lasted through the test of time. He told us that this was the first semester of teaching this class and he had a class of 60 students with a waiting list of near 200. The class began with the troopers in attendance wearing our buckets at the front of the class and our squad CO and XO spoke to the class briefly about who the 501st are. Then they introduced each of us and we took our buckets off one at a time while making a brief introduction, talking about how we got into the 501st, and about the things we enjoy the most about trooping. Our squad leadership put together a great powerpoint with talking points to include Legion structure, ways to join, some Star Wars trivia with some swag giveaways, our most popular troops, our membership statistics and charity goals and totals, and then we opened up the floor to personal questions from the class. We only had about an hour and a half to talk but we filled up the time fast and could easily have stayed much longer. We answered a lot of questions pertaining to "How to join and get started", "Character restrictions", and "Financial obligations". The class was very excited to see us and the Star Wars hype was very high in general! We presented the professor with a special edition squad coin and took a class picture. When the class concluded, we opened up the floor for more pictures and we stayed after for any students to come up to each of and answer any other questions. Even though I was the newest member of my squad in attendance, I was very proud to represent my squad and the FISD at this troop! I can definitely see us being invited back for future classes on campus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. First HWT troop in the books! No BFG because it was on UCF campus... yes, Chest piece needs adjusting, but here’s my version:
  7. Okay guys. Battle worn armor coming up: Took some tips from the pros and got some hairspray and charcoal powder from Hobby Lobby and went to town. I know, I’ve heard subtle and lightly worn, but once I got this stuff on and could easily wipe it off with a damp towel, I experimented a little and found the look I like. So far this is what I’ve got: *Also my first troop as a HWT is later today* Thoughts? Thanks guys! Pics from my first HWT troop incoming... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I tried on my armor and helmet with the Pauldron with the new mag pouch riveted to the side. I don’t really have much more limitation that I didn’t already have without it. Mainly just more sticky around the chin area because it rubs on the Pauldron instead of the armor, but no big deal. I’ll know more after my first Troop next week. I’ll be taking full body pics for my EIB submission! More weathering incoming! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Well I DIDNT think of that when I did those rivets so I’ll have to check it when I get home [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Started some battle weathering tonight on some accessories... I also figured out the shoulder mag pouch. Took some pointers from some other posts and riveted it to the Pauldron. Seems to work really nice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Approved! Just a quick question: how are folks attaching their shoulder mag pouch to themselves? The shoulder strap on the pack? If someone has any pics, please share! Thanks!
  12. As far as EIB and Centurion awards go, according to FISD, you can achieve multiple EIB awards for different TK costumes, but can only achieve Centurion ONCE? What are the thoughts behind getting multiple costumes to Centurion other than having the best possible screen accuracy for each costume? The actual award is really only given once? Thanks!
  13. For sure! Battle weathering to come for EIB and for trooping. I just had some help come to get pics for approval done while they were available. Couple more minor tweaks and It'll be ready for trooping! Thanks for everyones help!
  14. Submitting completed Basic HWT TK to my GML tonight for approval! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Double header today. Hit 10 and 11 TK troops today! Requesting badge update please! Thank you!

  18. Some pics after the glue has dried. I hit the pack with a light black and cream color spray for a battle weathered touch and sprayed an enamel paint sealer. Now this is done, I gotta figure out how I’m going to attach the shoulder mag pouch to the strap. [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Home Stretch: Nylon straps and foam liner: Don’t ask me how because I fought with this thing and broke out a sweat and had to take a break and come back to it... I got the pipe secured with machine screws, washers and lock nuts: I have the wipes container secured with machine screws, washers and lock nuts and the siphon riveted to the oil pan base. Pain in the an impolite person but I finally got it and it looks like it’ll hold up well: The remainder of the boxes I’m just E6000-omg to the base, weights holding them down: All that’s left for this is a wash to weather it a touch and the enamel spray sealer. 20. No I haven’t, was going to work on that tonight. Great advice, thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I had a few beers tonight and was just not happy stopping for the night so I got to “battle weathering” the parts to this pack a little. Used metallic silver testors with a dry-ish brush technique... let me know [emoji2371] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. This thing is looking like it’s almost ready to be assembled. I’d like to get a few more paint touch ups, some matte spray enamel to protect the paint surfaces, and figure out the straps. I’m looking at possibly just gluing the boxes to the base, riveting the siphon and wipes container, and screws for the tube... definitely more research or advice will help. Thanks all! Also planning on adding some padding to the back of the base where it’ll rest against the TK back armor. We’ll see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I’m thinking about using a spray satin or “varnish” on all the painted surfaces on the backpack to help improve durability. Anyone have any thought on this? Or other variant? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Got my funnel siphon assembled, riveted, and painted: Got the vent box “vented”: Screws installed on the other boxes and the backs glued and clamped: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
