  1. Thanks. I see you're in Pitt Meadows. Cool! Great to know there's someone nearby.
  2. I did the velcro today and it feels solid. No more sagging because of the blaster. Thanks for the advice guys.
  3. Tony mentioned the belt too. Every time I put it on I think "Oh yeah, I have to put the velcro on the belt".
  4. Thanks for the feedback. I see what you mean about the ab plate. I have mild scoliosis, so standing so my head and torso are aligned is difficult if I'm not looking in a mirror. With a bit of stretching I can get pretty straight. Here's a better shot where my wife helped me with my posture.
  5. Thanks, I posted in the pre-approval thread.
  6. Future Garrison: Outer Rim Garrison Armour maker: AP Helmet maker: AP Cloth belt maker: AP Neck seal maker: Geeky Pink Boot maker: Imperial Boots Blaster maker: Quest Design Canada Height: 5'10" Weight: 185 Lbs TK type: ANH Stunt Names of any Troopers who significantly helped with your build. Nobody physically helped me, but I got tons of help in my build thread. At the risk of leaving someone out, these troopers were a huge help: ukswrath justjoseph63 TheSwede gmrhodes13 Sly11 wook1138 and many more.
  7. I think I'm done! Maybe a few tweaks to do, but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
  8. I'd guess it's the same stuff. I gave it a try and it works! I left a little edge on my test patch unglued so I could try to peel it off and it just tore the rubber.
  9. I thought I was being clever by making test pieces of silicone from a tube that said "100% silicone", and CA worked great. The handguards that Mark makes is probably a higher quality 2 part that needs different glue. It definitely feels softer and more flexible than regular silicone out of a tube. I'll cut a piece of rubber from my test gloves and try gluing it to handguards before I go all in.
  10. I couldn't find any at my local hardware stores, but I found some at the home Depot in another city close by. I'll be trying this out when my wife gets home from work to help me.
  11. I tried a drop, but no luck Mark said to get one of these. I'll be trying one out this weekend.
  12. It is adhering to the gloves, but not the handguards.
  13. Yeah, I did that. It worked great on the test pieces of silicone I made, but not the supplied hand guards. Weird
  14. I'm going to email Mark this question, but I thought I'd see what other people have done. What glue should I use for the AP supplied hand plates? I thought I had it figured out I did multiple tests by making 2" square silicone pads on wax paper and gluing them to a test pair of gloves. E6000 failed, Shoe Goo failed, silicone failed, rubberized CA failed, regular CA worked. So, I tried gluing the hand plates with CA and it didn't stick at all. They must be made from something different than regular air cure silicone.
  15. My first trial fit with my nearly completed armour. I need to paint the helmet screws, tighten the sides a biit, attach the straps between the biceps and forarems and put the hand plates on the gloves. I'm wearing Nomex gloves in these pics, but I will be making a rubber pair as well. I can see that the camera should be lower, the left forearm is sliding down and the neck "bib" should be under the shirt. Anything else that should be changed? My spine/neck isn't totally straight, (mild scoliosis) so I hope I'll be able to stand straight enough to get better pics when submitting.
  16. As I'm getting near to completion, I'm finding it difficult to find time to work on this project. As we are getting into summer, there's some function every weekend. It's funny, but what most people consider "quality time" feels to me like time wasted when I could be working on something. Having said that, I have made a little progress. I've trimmed the backs of the thighs and greaves a little and I'm just trying to get them fitted the way I want them. I think I'll be putting a little foam on the insides in a couple of spots for comfort and to keep things aligned better. One issue I'm having is the Greaves want to slide down a little bit. Has anyone ever put straps between the thighs and Grieves to keep them in place and keep the spacing consistent? What are the pros and cons of this method? Here is a picture showing what I think looks right to me. I just need a way of keeping everything in position. Opinions?
  17. Thank-you sir. You really make this a lot easier for us noobs.
  18. Stripes position. I'm unsure which side the stripes go on. Is it A or B? Also, I know they should be 1 pencil width down from the cheek, but how far from the front?
  19. Thanks guys. I'll just do it a bit at a time. I just wanted make sure it would pass. Glad it helped with the CRL.
