I've made a little headway in the past week. I finished my arms and started working on strapping.
Here's my torso so far.
And here's my abdomen. I'm still working on attaching the belt properly.
I also added the smaller cover strips to my arms.
And I finally started working on the helmet

What color is the ALICE field pack? Black or dark green?
It looks green in this picture.
But it looks black in this one.

Thank you! I'll make sure to check out the for sale section.

I found this voice amp on Amazon. I think it is supposed to play music too, so I could have some comm chatter.

Should I use Elastic for the shoulder straps?

I just wanted to show the progress my little brother and I made on his EVA foam Battlefront shadow trooper kit. I made him the helmet for Christmas and now we are working together on his armor.
Here is his helmet. There are some changes we are going to make. We are going to replace the black lenses with silver reflective ones. And I might replace the mic tips with some better ones.
And Here's his Abdomen and Kidney armor. We still have to add the smaller details on the ab plate, and we are going to hold off on the U-trim until we are sure the armor doesn't need to be trimmed anymore. It's fun working on this scale. We made these two pieces in a couple of hours.

Okay, than you!

I was referring to the plate that covers the gap in the kidney in Rogue One.

How is the cover strip on the kidney plate attached? Is it completely held on by velcro? Or is one side glued on and the other attached with velcro?

I'm working on the boots too. I tried to make FOTK boots out of EVA foam, but it didn't work. I going to try getting a pair of slip-on shoes from the thrift store, then use some white vinyl I have laying around to make the boots. I'm tempted to make Tank trooper boots instead though. They should have been used for the R1 TKs
These are IB's. They are so cool! And they weren't even seen on screen!

Here's my thermal detonator and belt face.

I made some headway over the past week. Here is what I've done.
Here are my Hand guards.
I wanted to do a step by step for one of my armor pieces. Here's how I did the shoulder bells.
Here's the basic foam cutout and the other finished shoulder bell. It took me four tries to get the right shape and size.
First I did some pre-shaping by stretching it.
Then I glued the slit together with hot glue.
As you can see, this is still a pretty rough shape.
So I trimmed it to size and used a Dremel to sand down the seam.
Then I glued on the ridge.
I glued a piece of cardboard cut from a cereal box to the inside of the piece. It helps to retain it's shape.
Then I sanded the edges down with a Dremel.
Finished! All I have left to do is fill in the seams on the ridges!

Okay, thanks! I figured that there was some room, but I wasn't sure.

Does anyone know how the R1 thighs and shins fit? Are they tight against the legs, or do they have a lot of room?

Thank you!

I don't have any streaming services. I bought each season of Rebels as it came out on DVD. I think I will watch it with some friends or family who are planning on getting the streaming service, but I will be buying it when it come out on DVD.
There have also been reports that Thrawn will be in episode 9. Matt Smith has been cast for the movie, and I think he REALLY looks like Thrawn.
Same jawline.

Yeah, I always thought that MEPD took troopers that were dirty and modified for their specific environment. This guy just has a pack and pauldron. Kind of like a HWT.

I'm sure Stormtroopers won't be a huge part of the story. Though I did hear that Deathtroopers will be the main antagonists in the show. There are rumors that Thrawn will be in it too. That would explain why Deathtroopers are there.

Keep in mind this is a TV series on their new paid site for Disney streaming. So the budget is going to be less than a featured film and they will have to do what they can to keep the budget reasonable. If I had to guess I am sure they are going to use what costumes are available to them and given that Rogue was not that long ago and there are TK’s and Death Troopers they probably shared costume departments. I am sure with all the future plans for the franchise the Mouse is to smart to trash costumes after every film.
I am sure there will be some fun surprises but those in the know are under NDA contracts as typical. Once it airs I am sure the boards will be blowing up.
But yes, Favreu and Filoni are going to do an awesome job and I am sure they know how much the 501st puts the fan in fanatic.
The Mandalorian has a $100,000,000 budget.

How come they are both dirty in the same spot? It kinda looks like the First Order TK helmet.
Yes! I hated that they gave them FO boots! It didn't make any sense. They gave shore troopers chelsea boots. Why not give the TK's chelsea boots?

Here's some helmeted troopers.
