  1. I just wanted to show the progress my little brother and I made on his EVA foam Battlefront shadow trooper kit.  I made him the helmet for Christmas and now we are working together on his armor.

Here is his helmet.  There are some changes we are going to make.  We are going to replace the black lenses with silver reflective ones.  And I might replace the mic tips with some better ones.

And Here's his Abdomen and Kidney armor.  We still have to add the smaller details on the ab plate, and we are going to hold off on the U-trim until we are sure the armor doesn't need to be trimmed anymore.  It's fun working on this scale.  We made these two pieces in a couple of hours.

  2. I'm working on the boots too.  I tried to make FOTK boots out of EVA foam, but it didn't work.  I going to try getting a pair of slip-on shoes from the thrift store, then use some white vinyl I have laying around to make the boots.  I'm tempted to make Tank trooper boots instead though.  They should have been used for the R1 TKs

These are IB's. They are so cool!  And they weren't even seen on screen!

  3. I made some headway over the past week.  Here is what I've done.

    Here are my Hand guards.

I wanted to do a step by step for one of my armor pieces.  Here's how I did the shoulder bells.

Here's the basic foam cutout and the other finished shoulder bell.  It took me four tries to get the right shape and size.

First I did some pre-shaping by stretching it.

Then I glued the slit together with hot glue.

As you can see, this is still a pretty rough shape.

So I trimmed it to size and used a Dremel to sand down the seam.

Then I glued on the ridge.

I glued a piece of cardboard cut from a cereal box to the inside of the piece.  It helps to retain it's shape.

Then I sanded the edges down with a Dremel.

Finished!  All I have left to do is fill in the seams on the ridges!

  4. I don't have any streaming services.  I bought each season of Rebels as it came out on DVD.  I think I will watch it with some friends or family who are planning on getting the streaming service, but I will be buying it when it come out on DVD.

There have also been reports that Thrawn will be in episode 9.  Matt Smith has been cast for the movie, and I think he REALLY looks like Thrawn.

    Same jawline.

  5. I'm sure Stormtroopers won't be a huge part of the story.  Though I did hear that Deathtroopers will be the main antagonists in the show.  There are rumors that Thrawn will be in it too.  That would explain why Deathtroopers are there.

Keep in mind this is a TV series on their new paid site for Disney streaming. So the budget is going to be less than a featured film and they will have to do what they can to keep the budget reasonable. If I had to guess I am sure they are going to use what costumes are available to them and given that Rogue was not that long ago and there are TK’s and Death Troopers they probably shared costume departments. I am sure with all the future plans for the franchise the Mouse is to smart to trash costumes after every film.

I am sure there will be some fun surprises but those in the know are under NDA contracts as typical. Once it airs I am sure the boards will be blowing up.

But yes, Favreu and Filoni are going to do an awesome job and I am sure they know how much the 501st puts the fan in fanatic.

The Mandalorian has a $100,000,000  budget.
