Thank you. Makes sense about return edges at top. I’ll be losing more of the elbow end return edge to allow a bit more movement too. Glad others had those moments, stupid mistake but easily fixed. Did a basic test fit of body parts and think I’ll need to lose some of width from torso and kidney as currently overlap but rest feels like a good fit for my height/width. I’m 6’4” tall, slim to medium build which is why I went for AM armour but it also caters for the wider trooper so fair bit to trim. So late in the day I glued inner strips to biceps. Delighted when I took the clamps off the following day to see how well the glue had stuck to then realise my mistake. I’d glued 4 inner strips to one bicep All corrected now and will glue all cover strips at the end. Lesson learnt, know when to call it a day Currently glueing inner strips to lower arms after trimming a little width off Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve not glued forearm yet as the wrist is the part that’s bothering me, can get hand through but feels and looks baggy around the wrist. Think I might trim a small sliver off each side, nothing at elbow end as these seem fine but just to get a bit more lower arm taper. Seems we’ve all suffered during the build process Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Trimmed some of return edges down. Still might take off lower edge to biceps more as have 5-7mm left of edge and might open it up a bit. Was going to reduce width of lower arms but now I’ve tried parts on with under suit it makes those gaps not seem as wide

Meant trim return edge down on elbow end Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. Top edge has plenty of room but will trim return edge down to allow more flexibility. I really like return edges so where possible, I really want to keep them so long as they don’t cause issues with mobility Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Both biceps done this morning. Seem to match up ok so will glue inner strips later to these. Not happy with arm pieces so going to have a play around with them later, trim a bit of the elbow end return edges and make them a bit slimmer before glueing inner strips. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for that. I’ve trimmed more off the wrist edge. Will wait til I’ve glued them before doing final trim so I can match up side edges. Left arm giving me more grief than the right one did, just trying to get as much taper towards wrist whilst still getting hand through. Accidentally cut through top of finger whilst cutting arm pieces. Still, no pain, no gain and all that. When I’m finally happy with shape, I’ll glue inner strips in and start on biceps. AM arm and leg pieces are big so fair bit to trim Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The time had finally come to start trimming and cutting my AM armour. So looking like a poor excuse of Bain from batman I set to work. I’m starting with the arms. With shaking hands I marked a trim line on the wrist end and carefully trimmed the return edges. Being AM armour, the width of legs are arms are big so I’m trimming from the inner arm as the outer arm seems to run straight and central to my arm. I had been advised to always start with the showing edge and trim bit by bit from the back to get the fit. Bit more scoring required to get a clean snap but finally went and I breathed a sigh of relief that the first cut had been made. We’ve officially started!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Parts identified and labelled up. Hopefully get the first arm trimming done over weekend whilst I wait for snaps to arrive. Quick one, do most people trim off return edge at bottom of forearms or leave a bit/all of it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ordered rivets, not sure what these Chicago rivets are though? Also I can’t find a spec/measurements for the TD screws? Thanks all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for this. Sadly first supplier doesn’t deliver to UK address and second one wants $49 for shipping?! Is there any suggestions for UK suppliers for snaps, rivets and screws that tick the box? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks everyone. Links provided are really useful. I’ve decided to upgrade my snap fasteners as I’m not satisfied with the 2 packs I’ve bought. Where are people getting their Tandy snaps from? I’m searching online and it seems every snap seems to promise being heavy duty but they aren’t. Also if someone has a link to where they have bought split rivets too that would be ace as don’t want to keep buying the wrong stuff. Also for the 3 speed Chicago rivets? And also the TD screws Will check out the detonator clip guy and put an order in. Just the belt to buy, then I guess the time would have come to stop procrastinating and get on with it. Thanks all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s great thanks. Think it’s just the clips, rivets and screws I need now as by some miracle seem to have all/most tools required from the list. Really useful link cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the welcome. It’s so daunting! At this point I’m just staring at the kit with a bucket load of tools on the table and wondering where to start. Been busy making snap fasteners to get going. So where do I start? Top down, shins up? I’m thinking to get properly started doing the upper body part, connecting all together then move to the arms, then the legs. Is there a go to list for specification of rivets for torso and screws for detonator etc and where is the go to place for detonator metal clips? Thanks again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fantastic. Happy to be here. Story so far. I have an AM ANH Stunt kit. Helmet has been built by them, I received it today and personally think it looks stunning, just going to put some additional padding on the inside as although I'm quite tall, I have a tiny head it seems. I have received the helmet and kit this week and have been busy buying lots of bits, boots, neck seal, all tools required whilst I have waited for it to arrive. The kit looks great. Somewhat nervous getting started. I have built a Doodydoos blaster too. Just going to test loading some photos of what I have. I've read lots of build threads and have an idea of how I want to approach the build and naturally would love to achieve Centurion level if I can. Any advice welcome and I'll try and get things moving on here. Thanks

Hi, looking to to start a build thread for my AM ANH Stormtrooper build. is this the right place to begin to show what I’m doing and get general feedback and support? Got the kit and looking to get started. Thanks Linz

looks Good buddy. I decided to doopydoo in the end. Still waiting for BBB day. Hopefully this Wednesday so got busy building. Few details still to add to scope, counter etc and bit more weathering to do but actually quite enjoyed building it. I’ll try and attach picture. Good luck with the rest of yours

I absolutely want to go for as higher level clearance as possible but the build threads on the blasters looked incredibly detailed. Is this what is required for centurion level or is it troopers going beyond for the blaster finish? Which is the best thread to follow for blaster build? Time isn’t on my side so want to invest the time I have on getting the armour bang on but also want to troop as soon as soon as possible which would be slowed down considerably if I added that much detail to the blaster. Cheers

that would be great. Blaster looks good. so long as it’s 501st approved at the end I’m not looking to invest months of time building it as I’m sure the armour will take long enough. Thanks Linz
