  1. Before I glue these on, can I just check they look right? Happy with larger button panel but not sure if small button panel needs more taping off edges? Just concerned if more comes off, I’ll run out of flat area around buttons. These bits needed dremmel cutting the plastic was so tough Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I can't seem to find who you mean for gloves with hand guard purchase? Belt arrived today with some handy rivets, tan leather tabs for holster and TD clips so starting on TD canister now. I also need to get one of these hand operated rivet guns, no idea which I need to buy or how they work? Any suggestions or does a basic Amazon one do the job for most rivet sizes?
  3. Hi, just wondering about gloves for centurian level? I’ve bought black rubber gloves and thought I’d Velcro the handplates (solid plastic) from the AM kit but been reading up that these should be flexible and bonded to a black glove? Assume I need to buy a set of these? Any recommendations? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It’s the top edge of the arm just needs trimming. Had a job getting all ends and edges to marry up so a bit of finishing to do when all set Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Wanted to get left forearm done, had to pull it apart and reset inner strips, let set, then add outer strips. Belt and TD clips on order and trimmed ab button plates which I had to use dremel cutter and sanding as pretty thick plastic on these bits. Trimming backs of legs this week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Should I allow more width on the thighs. Wondering if they look too slim as I have them taped in picture. Was planning on trimming little by little until I’m happy but would like to get some feedback as what widths would look best? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks, good advice. I will drop thighs a little to reduce gap. Fronts gaps will reduce when sniper knee and ammo pack added but that will help reduce back of leg gaps. I’ll play around with it a bit and see how I can balance out top and knee gaps. Appreciate the feedback Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. So did some test fits of legs after trimming all the fronts to allow for 20mm trim edge to sit on ridge. Walked around a bit to make sure parts felt comfortable and taped and marked up the backs to get an idea of overlap. I’ve got quite long slim legs. I will be trimming some of the return edges from top of thighs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Initially worrying about thighs and shins but seems to have turned out ok, now to test fit and mark up the backs for trimming Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Fab, thanks for that, works for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Quick question. Just trimming fronts of thighs, is the cover strip 20mm on these. Saw a great guide a while back and annoyed I didn’t grab the picture. Been busy fixing left forearm today, took off inner cover strips and started over glueing process again, think it should work better now. Poppers fixed for shoulders so refit later to work out length of white elastic then final decision on ab-kidney before glueing in poppers to non riveted side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I think they say it’s 1.5mm think. I’m 6’4”, about 200, slim to medium build and it seems to be working out. Designed for larger trooper but definitely workable to get slimmer fitting. I particularly wanted the tougher, thicker armour so it feels more armour like Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I tried to order from RT-Mod but after initial contact, never heard from him again, saw on another thread someone else had same issue. He had a long lead time but armour looked great and he sizes up to your measurements. I am really happy with my AM kit. It’s really thick, nice a shiny and I had Eric make the helmet. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I think just yesterday AM had sets ready to go. It’s nice thick plastic and good if your taller or wider. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks for this. I’ve done several test fits with under suit and keep resisting the urge to trim more from sides. I’ll make final decision when shoulder straps done, can’t afford to have a gap where there wasn’t a need. So kidney notch? Is this a requirement? Is that the little square cut out. Ive marked up butt piece to trim so it has that angled finish as AM kit is very square on butt piece sides. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks all, I’ll use photo as guide and crack on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. Think I’m nearly there with width of ab-kidney, just waiting for shoulder poppers to dry, then will do final fit before starting on side poppers and rivets when they arrive. Quick one regards button panels. How much do I take off of each before glueing? Marked up pictures with rough lines, just wondered if there was a definitive centurian level approach? Might start legs this weekend. Seems most approach this by getting fronts trimmed and edges added then move onto the backs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. That’s really useful info and has probably saved me asking about 5 more questions. What I also need to know is how much gap should there be between the back and chest shoulder extensions? When fitting these touch. Does that matter as they’ll be joined underneath with white elastic and covered on top with bumpy strip? Should I trim a bit off to allow wider gap or just leave them touching? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Quick question. Do I need to trim sides and length of shoulder straps on chest plate and back plate? I’m going to trim a bit of the sides from the bumpy strip but even before trimming the straps below will be visible, more so with the back plate straps/tabs as per photos? Also is there a set distance to have between the straps as currently when the kit is on, they touch and most other builds seem to have a gap where the white poppered elastic will join them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Good bit of progress made today. Elastic into shoulder bells, seems added to biceps, all poppers glued into body parts, right forearm closed. Left forearm is a nightmare, went to close it and other seem split open, think I’ll need to hot water bath it to bring edges in more to create a more flush joint, found when you add inner strip, it sets a bit further apart than you’d think it will and takes more to bring it together. Trimmed a small amount from each side of kidney and butt piece, going to trim lightly until I’m happy with width when joined with ab section. I’ll see when done what needs to happen with shoulder tabs as think they might need trimming to allow a gap Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Thank you. Good advice. I’m doing as you say, get front and back strapping done then refit. Before any cutting, I’ll re measure with undersuit and intend on very cautiously trimming even amounts off each part until they meet. I’ll be cutting straight, pencil lines we’re just a guide at this point to see how much excess there was. Heading to garage now to glue in some snaps I’ve set into webbing to join back-kidney-butt and add some to top inner of ab, will wait to see how it fits before working out where to glue in snaps on chest as overlap may change when refitting after connecting back pieces Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Ok, so did a bit more reading and reviewed submitted kits. I need to take off several inches evenly from torso and kidney piece sides to get a comfortable flush fit, assuming these should be straight cuts. Pencil marked the overlaps onto abdomen piece. It’s AM kit so pretty generous and I’m a 36” waste. Also still not sure about the square sides to the butt piece and whether this needs trimming and shaping differently. Gonna crack on glueing snaps in to areas I know I won’t need to modify which should help with fitting of next pieces Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. TeaK arms nearly done, tomorrow final glue of lower arms to close them and cover strips. Biceps lower return edges gone which feels much better. Wife helped tape body parts together. Very square sides to butt piece, do people trim these down on AM armour? Feel like I need to trim some off top tabs of chest and back pieces as they are butted together in picture but seen everyone has a gap between them where white elastic will join them together. Need to trim about an inch off kidney/torso as currently overlap and would be be too baggy if left. Any advice, links to threads etc always appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
