  1. Decals done. Do I remove the first bar as it seems a bit close to the front? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for the advice, my ocd wouldn’t let me leave it that way. There were a few choice swear words said while I was realigning. [emoji3] Just have to now learn to love the gap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for the feedback, pulled bucket apart and drilled more holes earlier today, without reinforcing (woops). I can get the angles right but I have created a new issue with the ear gap particularly on the left now being pretty big 4-5mm and showing the join below. I’ve tried to drill the lower screw to try and reduce the gap, but I don’t have much space there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks for the info, my OCD had picked up that detail and the angled alignment of the screws. Is it something that would stop me from achieving centurion? Don’t like drilling holes in stuff if I don’t really need too, though the perfectionist in me might convince me otherwise. Edit: I’ve since had a look at a number of AP submissions for centurion, and they all seem to have the right side higher than the left and screws that don’t line up diagonally to the trap. Anyone with AP able to confirm? May still have a play trying to fix up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks, I’ve put the screws in but not fully tightened. How do the brows and ears look, think right ear is higher Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Paint dried, pretty happy with outcome, just 1 corner to touch up after assembly. So assembly next then detail or paint details before assembly? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. 7 coats later and I may remove the tape and putty tomorrow to see how it looks. Found a good tip on YouTube for spaying plastidip. Shake the can for 5+ mins and put the can in a bowl of warm tap water (not boiling water) for 5-7 mins. It then sprays as a fine mist giving an awesome finish. Learnt this after the first blotchy coat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Took ages to tape face, going to spray a bit lighter as first coat on some a bit thick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. After getting some tips at this weeks armour party, put bucket together then pulled apart to plastidip inside. Taped everything up and ready for first coat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks mate, armour party next weekend should help me get some momentum again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks, will give that a go, but only have about 1mm to play with as edge of top button is pretty close Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Button plates on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. After a pause for over 2 months I’m back. So hopefully I can make a dint in the build. Tidied up the buttons today? Passable? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 9.25mm but the guys at the screw shop talk imperial for some reason Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks, I assume that is mineral turpentine here in Australia. Doesn't damage the abs? I've also painted an off cut to see how it goes with the turps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Bugger, had done most of the tops of the buttons, and then extended my painting to include the white edges
  17. So toothpicks to tidy up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks, was going to go brackets but recently changed mind to use a double snap setup, was going to try doubled over elastic first and see how I like it. Got 5m each of the webbing and elastic to play around with.
  19. Slightly better than the other day If I stand completely upright the jatz crackers get squashed. Do I have room for longer elastic shoulder straps as the overlap of the shoulder covers at the back plate is between the 4-5rib which is the same overlap as the chest plate. Is there too much overlap of the chest plate /ab? Can I score more length here? Elastic strapping or nylon webbing internally?
  20. I've been looking to do chest back, abs and kidneys next. After taping everything up to do a rough fit check before I strap, I've got some concerns that my torso might be a bit longer than I thought. I'm only 6' tall but pretty solid at 230lb. When I taped everything up and had a slight overlap of the chest plate and abs (only about an inch) and aligned the kidney to be level with the top edge of the abs. There was about a 3-4" gap in between the back plate and the kidneys. Its fixed if I hunch over, but not overly comfortable for more than 2mins, and standing up straight blows it open. I know I can slightly lengthen the elastic over the shoulders by about an inch to drop the back plate slightly, though any more and the shoulder straps might get to short to attach at the back, this still does it doesn't give me enough to close the gap. If I move the chest plate up closer to my neck that also helps drop the back plate, but results in the cod crushing the Jatz Crackers. How much overlap should I have on the chest plate/abs? Should the neckline of the chest plate be roughly at the same height as the bottom of the helmet? or doesn't matter? I'm using double snaps for strapping, should I use elastic or nylon webbing through for the torso straping? Any other suggestions? or am I over thinking stuff.
  21. More waiting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Let this dry over night Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Can't touch this! Love the animation On a separate note, elastic on the shoulder bells around the biceps is just glued directly on?
  24. Snap time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I was trying to work out the same, thinking elastic for arms / legs, probably need nylon for my "Trooper butt". Was thinking of doubling the nylon over and stitching together, but gluing sounds so much easier.
