  1. Bugger, just saw this post after finishing my stunt belt today with spacing at 2cm from old diagram Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks, I was planning to use normal rivets, as have run out of small Chicago screws.
  3. awesome build thread, been a great help. What did you use to secure holster to belt, chicago screws? Can you use rivets?
  4. Just checking spacing for belt holes on ab for AP, measurements taken from a few AP posts including Wooks & Scimitars, and background info from ukwrath. I have Right side at 28mm across, 15mm up from ridge, left side 40mm across, 15mm up from ridge.
  5. Was having trouble with the spit rivets deforming the snap as I tried to set it, so got a bit creative with some modelling compound which made the male snap stronger, slightly trimmed the length of each split rivet so they didn't protrude After the compound set got to work on assembly and sorting out my snap setup. Seems to have turned out ok. Just shoulder straps, belt and gloves to go. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  6. Cheers, just the ocd kicking it. The top holes are 20mm from the return edge. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  7. Bottom hole in wrong spot? Should be 10mm above the ab return edge? Easy enough to fix if wrong but will also shift middle hole up by 5mm. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  8. Productive day, Forearms and biceps stripped, retrimmed and reassembled, waiting for glue to dry. Re did my strapping today, adjusted lengths and replaced snaps with stronger ones. Drilled some holes, thinking split rivets into male snap so I can disassemble. Is this a good idea or stick with split rivet into fixed webbing? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  9. Have started the fun job of pulling the biceps and forearms apart to re-trim. Have taken about 30mm off the biceps, more snug fit now, be ok as long as I keep arms straight. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks Mark, I'll see what I can trim off, Looks like I'll be ripping a few pieces apart. As this is the first dismantling job I've done, any suggestions on how best to take strips off without damaging anything? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks, I was thinking of replacing the strap there, so I'll add it to the list. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  12. Still a small amount of padding in helmet but not much, will take it all out for next photo. Hands hardly fit thru opening and they appear tapered from certain angles. I will take some more photos, for additional advice, before I have to rip them apart. Think they were the first pieces I made almost 2 yrs ago, and are reinforced on the inside. 13. Based on some of the comments I changed some of my strapping: - bought shoulders in - extended straps between breastplate and ab to extend torso - took some of foam out of bucket, could remove some more. Seems to look a lot better than previous photos.gotta change straps on butt plate and lock it in place a bit better 3 more questions - Shall I extend shoulder straps to drop back plate lower? - sides look ok? - wth do I do about rear shoulder gap?? Feel free to be critical Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  14. Cool might not fully trim especially if I lose some kegs Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  15. Been trying to get the right fit for sides of abs. Might have a few millimetres to trim but have a few to many inches around the waist to make the movie accurate lines Mark included. Before I start drilling does this alignment look ok? Left side doesn't line up perfectly, can I trim the back more when i go to do the notch, as it overhangs about 5mm ? 16. In the first photo, would lowering front also mean the gap between breastplate and helmet also increases? I also have about a 2" overlap between the breastplate and ab piece could I extend this to only being an inch giving me some space to lower the cod by an inch without affecting the neck, or does the space between the ab buttons and the breastplate become too big? Was thinking of replacing the internal elastic strapping over this join with webbing to decrease the potential stretch as well? or does this become too rigid? In relation to the arms, I'm still to create a hook on the biceps to attach the shoulder strap too, will this help position the biceps more? I can get 2 fingers in between my biceps and the armour and less when flexed. If I have to proceed the not easy option, I know the joins going to be pretty strong as its also got internal cover strips.
  17. Awesome, thanks TkSpartan I've changed the top straps that connect the shoulders to a webbing strap and now they are not stretching and creating a gap. Will get to work on the other parts over then next few days Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks, here are the photos that correspond to my earlier questions. Note neck seal fabric still needs to be trimmed.
  19. Thanks, here are some of the photos https://imgur.com/d9gWVr6 https://i.imgur.com/MdmOdo5.jpg https://i.imgur.com/B6TvdRB.jpg https://i.imgur.com/2EqY6si.jpg https://i.imgur.com/upT2Utr.jpg?1 Planning to finish torso and back this week however had a few questions when I had a test fitting. - Cod feels bit high, is there a way to lower it? Was thinking of reducing overlap at chest/cod join and potentially using webbing instead of elastic at this join? - I can narrow gap about an inch between front of thighs and cod as garter system wasn't fully adjusted - Does the back look ok? or is posterior too high? - Big shoulders and lats are an issue as there is a big gap there have already fabricated smaller strap for attachment at top of shoulder but will probably also change strapping at bicep, which may help? other suggestions - is there too much of gap between helmet and top of chest? long neck or too much padding in helmet? Please be critical as prefer to fix things now before having to do them at a later stage for centurion. Cheers
  20. Been a fairly productive few days - Thighs finished, ammo pack riveted in place, rivets painted - Calves finished - Garter belt for thigh all set up and attached to thighs - Cod strap riveted in place and 2 fasteners attached on posterior - Shoulder bridge straps modified and shoulder bell straps shortened to attach closer to bridge strap I'll attach some photos if they ever download to this computer as I have exausted my months photo uploads on taptalk.
  21. Back of left turned out ok after thumbs and heat gun screwed it up Can I take off a bit more on the right side of the mobility cut? or does it have to end on the ridge?
  22. Gaps filled, painted and sanded.
  23. Apoxie putty for reinforcing. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  24. Heat gun and baking pan, what could go wrong? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
  25. 48hrs later Do I need to fill small gaps at joins near knee? Anyone else with AP have this issue (3rd photo) at back of left thigh near knees? One ridge is double the height. Heat gun? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
