  1. Helmet is fully finished! I'm very happy with it. I'm pretty sure it is cert 3 ready too. Any ways we can push it even further with accuracy? Not that we need to, but if additions can be made perhaps we can add them!
  2. luckily we glued them together with E6000, the arms are glued with an ABS Glue, which would very likely split the plastic if we tried to sepereate them. Good thing my arms are put together right
  3. Separated the calves (with a butter knife), now in their respective sides. We will be gluing them back tomorrow. We do have to do some minor sanding and cutting to make them fit. Hopefully they will look much better once done!
  4. Okay so I hope these sit right, what do you all think: EDIT: I wanted you guys to check the alignment and if it is good!
  5. Small update: New vs old neckseal: Gluing the ab buttons on, hope they look alright. Once on I can line up the belt properly. Some of the buttons on need to be repainted though like the top left one.
  6. Awesome, I think we will do that soon, seems like it will look right!
  7. So these are my shins, you can see how the one on the left is a bit more bloated than the one on the right: So the question is, Option 1 or 2? 1. 2. Thank you, so close to finishing now
  8. hmmm, might need some more opinions, not saying you're wrong, just having trouble understanding. Looking at each calf, it seems the right calf is slightly larger than the left, even though the openings are the same size. I was thinking more of swapping the sniper knees outer shell with the other legs inner one if you know what I mean. Confusing, but this is what the fourms are for, I'm glad you guys caught it! Hopefully @justjoseph63 and @tarok can shed more light. Thanks Spartan!
  9. Wait do I have both of the inside ones as one leg and both of the outside ones as the other?
  10. Hello! Thanks for the advice, which ones need to be swapped? I'm having trouble understanding which ones!
  11. I found it easier if you seperate the two halves, but I'm sure you knew that!
  12. S-Trim attached! I saw most people don't use glue, just pressure fit it which I did. I also put the seam at the front
  13. Hello! here are the pics you guys requested! Lucky we glued these with E-6000. If this will affect my Cert-3 me will defs have to change it. Since I'd really like to keep going for it as I've put heaps of work into it so far to obtain it (and money lol). Dad's opinion is that it might be the photo plus the fact that we've cut them down so much for my skinny legs. But will see what you guys think. Fingers crossed!
  14. Here's also a new shot of my legs with my new boots:
  15. Tarok! How are ya! I've actually ordered laytex handguards from @justjoseph63 ! And no one has brought up that shin thing yet
  16. I would like to get some expert opinions on a few items for the suit! Do you think I need to repaint these buttons? They got a bit wrinkley for some reason, I think too much paint. They seem to be the right size though. This is my thermal detornator, which we've been leaving until last, as it is a removeable addition. It's a slight shade darker than the helmet greys, and in darker environments it's almost a light black. Do you think it needs a repaint? I got some nomex gloves for the hotter troopers, WAY more breathable and flame proof if I ever get attacked by a flamethrower: Here is my belt, any suggestions on how to layout the snaps/rivets? And finally the new ribs for my neckpiece: Thank you all for your help so far, nearly there, I've been tired and groggy for like the last week and honestly haven't been feeling it right now, but getting back into it tomorrow hopefully!
  17. Thank you for your suggestions! Will be doing that later tonight. In other news, my IMP Boots arrived! I'll be using these ones for trooper, and I'll be using my old, more scrappy ones for rougher terrian. EDIT- It's actually kind of a blessing in disguise, as it will be hand having two pairs of boots!
  18. Hello all. Sorry for not having heaps of updates, I'm sure everyone else is getting tired of all this quarantine and the such. Just a few questions: On my ab piece the leg corners were cut like this in straight lines, should they be rounded? Also it isn't major but an tips on removing that dint? Thank you
  19. Well that didn't go to plan! Tube of E-6000 exploded in my hands. Spent 2 hours picking dry glue off of my hands!
  20. Hello all, been very busy and haven't been able to work on the armour. I recently ordered some new boots from Imperial Boots, and I am considering also ordering some laytex handplates. Looking into getting a Doopydoos blaster eventually, but it seems they're out of stock right now.
  21. Also do you think the return on the under breast plate should be reduced a bit?
  22. Finally! After about a month of waiting I recived my belt! It came in great condition, looks up to par with some of the more expensive ones! The only problem was the person we asked to stich them took way too long. You might remember we and my dad made the belts cut out of canvas (my one and my dads, which his is longer), for the person to then put stiching on the outside of them to give it that more professional look. After a week or so of waiting she said she restarted them, a week after that she asked for both them, 2 weeks after that we recived one belt back? She stiched both of them together! Oh well, now I can finish building the armour!
  23. Progress! In this photo though the chest plate isn't secured properly just yet.
  24. It's just the plan we have so far, there are many options. Using a snap could also work. I am having the issue that the shin does rotate on my legs, but I am a skinny guy. We haven't put the padding inside the shins quite yet, as we are waiting for our belts. Armour making has slowed down a bit as we are trying to get stuff organised due to the virus. Pretty keen to get stuck back into it, as it's not long now until we finish my armour and go onto our 2nd armour. Mainly we got the idea here from RS Propmasters, at 3:30 mark:
