Hi Paul, my name is Ron. I am selling a complete kit from Anovos. I bought it from a guy here in Michigan who never began his build - it is completely untrimmed whatsoever. Anovos is an approved seller of 501st armor, and they are currently out of stock on the TK kit. Check out their web site, and do your research here. But, I think you will find this is not an inexpensive hobby. Also, Anovos takes quite a long time to build and mail your kit, if that's who you go with. I have the same kit that you could have almost immediately. Anyway, check things out. I have people who will vouch for me and my character. Hope to hear from you, and good luck!

Nearly done - best helmet fan system??
rzill replied to rzill's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
What is the wattage on your Anker power supply? I see an 18 and a 24W on Amazon that are about the same size. -
Nearly done with my TK build! What's the best helmet fan cooling system? Maybe a silly question, but is there a wireless system? Would rather not have wires running up and down my neck. I've heard of Henry's, and Troopacoola. Recommendations? Thanks!

Attaching holster to belt question...
rzill replied to rzill's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
From CRL? -
Without buying a rivet gun for two little connections, is it ok to attach the holster to the belt with Chicago screws for the TK Stunt?

What do I need to get started? (Stormtrooper armor)

I will be selling an Anovos kit, completely untrimmed, 100% complete. It is an XL size, and with all of the soft goods (undersuit, belt, strapping material, etc.), Anovos is $1100. I'll be selling for less than that, plus it would be shipped out immediately after payment. Anovos takes over six months to get it to you. If you are interested, let me know before I post it. -

I did use the direct link, I thought. And what does RO ab mean? -

Duh, to myself, I also meant to ask the length. -

Trying to ask more questions without clogging up the thread board. I am cutting my own holster straps for the TK stunt. I saw on another post, but wasn't sure which Trooper it was for, that the width is about 20mm. Is this about right? -

Thanks I just ordered tactical pads. Seems the best option both for secure fitting and cleaning. I did post this a while ago, but might as well ask you - what speaker system do you have, and do you like it? I may not need a fan here in Michigan until the spring. -

Tactical pads? Is that anything like the pads sold at Michaels? They are firm, but flexible - not as porous as foam. -
OK, I am so close!! Don't be too proud of me, as a friend offered to construct my helmet for my TK. Anywhoo, a couple questions. First, what is the best head gear for the inside of the helmet? Hard hat liner, velcro, leeches? I mean, they'd kinda hurt, but would stick to my head. Second, maybe kinda nit picky, but I am about to paint the ab buttons. I have the correct paint, but is there a special kind of paint brush that leaves the least amount of streaks? Thanks! And I will be posting pics for my pre-approval within a couple weeks - SOOO geeked!

I am guessing that I want to be able to bend my elbow to 45 degrees, so this is about where I should strap the forearm to the biceps? I have long arms, so there will be a gap. But, if I move the forearm up any higher than this, I can't bend my arms... I'm thinking that's kind of important when it comes time to take them off Thanks!

I love my dad, God rest his soul, and am proud to have been his son. But, I inherited his ability to take instructions easy enough for a child to build a square peg, and turn it into a round hole.

Thanks! I have an ATA kit, and it did not come with the inner boxes. I appreciate the motivation to go for upper level, but whatever the Midas touch is, I have the 180 degree opposite of that when it comes to building. However, I am considering getting a Biker Scout with some money I might be making on a sale. If I get that, I'd be careful, and shoot for upper level with that.

My kit did not come with an inside box. I just cut the boxes I have, and fit a flat piece of plastic over the opening. Guess I have to file it down a bit. Thanks!
-
You people are the best! You said to keep asking questions, so I am asking: is there a uniform width for the drop boxes? Wondering if these are too thick - they measure 18mm. Thanks!

I'm not worried about getting the glue off under and around the strap. The scuff marks are not glue, and I just wanted to know if that would be an issue.
-
I can live with it, unless it's a tried and true method. I just worry about it being accepted, and I don't want to have to go Sandtrooper before I even troop once as a TK!
-
Thanks Yeah, I wanted to get the pics up as soon as possible, but that glue is tricky. I need to let my nails grow a bit!
-
I had to remove and re-glue the shoulder straps, and it caused some scuffing on the chest plate. I tried to take the pictures that showed it in the worst light - second one is probably more telling. Is this ok, provided I continue to clean off the access glue?

Question about velcro-ing the lower legs
rzill replied to rzill's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Did you use the UKSWRATH method? I only have 2" wide straps right now, and he uses 1" wide. -
Question about velcro-ing the lower legs
rzill replied to rzill's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Hey Frank - with the cooler weather today, I did yet another hot water bath with my armor. I swear, ATA must think people have oval shaped legs! Anyway, I think I got it to look a little better, but I am ditching the velcro. I know bra hooks are a pain to put on and take off, but the velcro is just not lying down very well.
