Being a tall trooper I'm gonna have to give the back piece the famous water bath. I know that with uncut edges at the shoulder there is a big risk of them cracking... I have cut a big amount off but have no idea if it is enough. I am also thinking that sanding then would be good to prevent weaknesses along the area I will bend. Sent fra min SM-G960F via Tapatalk

I'll keep it as it is then and see if i trim it based on how it feels to wear. I am guessing that trim is mostly for movement and comfort. No need to put ABS and paste it if I end up haning to cut it away. But as long as it looks good for approval I will reinforce it with a coverstrip on the top and bottom of the inside.

Left thigh is done but the gap at the lower edge line is kinda big. Is that a problem for approval? Should I add ABS on the inside to make it less visible? Sent fra min SM-G960F via Tapatalk

No progress the last week. A bit off topic but I had a double 40 years birthday with my wife, and we had a costume party. A lot of things to organize for this event, but I would like to share a photo we took of all the guests. I was Deadpool. Hoping to asseble the thighs tonight! Sent fra min SM-G960F via Tapatalk

I though about buying cap rivets for the ammo pack mounting, like Tony did in his guide. The split rivets frighten me a bit more and seen just a tad scarier to install. Only question is... what size are these rivets? Sent fra min SM-G960F via Tapatalk

Read through this whole thread Rat, and I am a bit behind you in my build (allthough I started before). Great to see where others meet challanges, and be aware of them. I am about 6'2" or 189cm as I would say, being European and all, and i am about 100kg, wich is about 220lbs i think. My experiance is that I am right in the hight limit for this armor, and my challange has been making the cuts without cutting to much off, coz i need every inch or i would have to add. I have done the forearms, biceps and shins, and are now ready to glue the thighs. Every part is just enough, allthough I am unsure about the right shin - it fits, i can close it - but its very tight. For my chest i will have to maximize every part so that it reaches all the way down. Hopefully it will. Like you, I just caht wait to get out there and have it done. I am not much of a builder, though I am sure once it is done - I will be very proud of myself for having done it, and i will know every inch of my armor. I am really impressed with how you have worked throug every part and cant wait to see you finished. It will be a great motivation for myself. Just wanted to say that - I am cheering for ya'! Greetings from TK-Unknown

Ok, great - I should be ok with 25, and it should be in corispandance with my other parts.

If you want to return edges of the front of the thight to be completly covered by the coverstrips you do 10mm on each side, so it totals to 20mm as the cover strip. But how much of the return edge can show before it threatens "approved"?

This demonstrates what I am talking about a bit better. Sent fra min SM-G960F via Tapatalk

I finished the shins and I am ok happy. Right one is s bit tight but I walked around with it a bit and I can take the discomfort. As I understand, it's not a comfortable set Sniper knee could not be as perfect of a fit that I had hoped, but I think it is ok. My kit will have a LOT of personality So I have started (almost finished) trimming the thighs. As I am setting up where to cut the front of the left inner thigh I notice that the return edge is curved. I put a straight metal ruler along the return edge and it is very curved. I am sure this is intended and movie accurate but it leaves me wondering how to measure. I need to leave a little more then the 10mm for the cover strip on each side. I am measuring 12mm from the return edge to my cut line. How do I do this when the return edge is not straight? (See last picture) Sent fra min SM-G960F via Tapatalk

Thank you do much Daniel. It mens the world. If we ever meet at an event I would want to offer you a "bƦsj" Here are some pictures of the last days work. Front strips are in place. Sniper knee glued in the middle. I will attach the sides tomorrow (allowing for 48 hrs glue drying). And right side back strip is glued on the right shin. So left side back strip and sides of sniper knee tomorrow. Sent fra min SM-G960F via Tapatalk

Thank you for asking. Well, it has been a periode of NO movement. I have to admit - i have been mentaly occupide elsewhere. Life gets in the way. Still kinda is, but I have just started working again. So a few days ago I actually worked on the shins and got the front of them glued. Allways insecure about the fit, but the way they are i think they will be ok. I dont have a chance to cut much off, coz I am a man of a certain size, just hope I don't have to add. I think I'm ok. Today the plan is to add the Sniper knee to the left shin and then attacth the back strips. I have bought white industrial strength velcro to attatch. After this I will get to work on my thigh armor. A bit less woried about the size there. So if the shins fit I am very happy. I'll see if i can post some photos later today.

As I understand the Shins have a tendancy to be wrongfully marked by Anovos, but can also be correct? UKsWrath says what numbers usualy belongs, but I have tried to look around for how to identify for sure. I also understand that a "correct" setup is not needed for any Level of approval, but I would like to get it right. And I think mine were wrongly marked by Anovos. What I found out was that the inner halves are a bit longer, down towarss the ancle, then the outer once. The outer halves seem to have a bowon the middle, and the inner once have bow further up and og in towards the leg earlier. Left side Shins have less raised return edge on the top at the T then the right one. So looking at these things I think I have found the lefts and the rights. I'll post a Picture later.

Ok, I see. Well, I have decided to go for just basic approval. I understand the difference is not that big but, for me - basic will be enough challenge. When it comes to the legs, am I right that I can cut the front to about 21mm in total on the Return edge part before I have to measure? If there is to little material, the adjustments has to be made on the back anyway, right? I know that I am ether going to have a perfect fit, or to little. But the front needs to be right for the strip anyway? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tnx guys. Does anyone know if the Anovos bucket is Centurion approved out of the box, or does it take modifications? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I have been looking at Pencap510's Thigh Garter System for holding the thigh pieces up, instead of connecting them to the chest. Looks like that belt works well for most, but I see a lot of people use suspenders also. People who use suspenders, how are they connected and used to hold things up? Is there a belt the thighs are attatched to that also has susspenders holding them up?

Yes.

Thank you Tony. Today I am at work but only thinking about coming home to my forearm armor. The second one is all cut and I will glue it tonight. Spirit is rising again! Was afraid a while that i would have to cut my thumb of to make it fit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Phew... tested now that the glue is dry, and its not a failure (at this point).

Yeah, I wrote the wrong numbers. It is a 15cm cover strip and i made 8 cm on each side so only 0,5 cm return edge shows. That was the plan, but it turned out even less then that though. Right now i feel really bad about this forearm. The cutting is much harder then i expected. I am having a har time getting stright lines - even when using a metal ruler. The armor bends some and then i use the ruler to cut - it wont match the other side good. Also - I am really really unsure about my messurements. It doesnt matter how many times i messure when i dont know if my number is correct. Also I wanted to cut more from the wrist side, making this more narrow, and almost nothing at the elbow side. When i test fitted it after i could still take more of the front, but i felt I could not take more from the elbow. Guess i now have to wait and see how it turns out when glue is dry. Mentaly i felt prepared for what i should do, but as i tried to do it my house of cards fell. Now i am in a negative place again, felling overwhelmed. Ill be releaved if i didnt ruin this forearm. Ill be happy if i get this functional and approved....

So I am thinking how to cut the butt connections and one side has a return edge the other is flat. The return edge side would be the front I guess. As I have tried to demonstrate in the photo I am thinking I will cut on the front / return edge side first making this about 8 cm on each side, that will make the cover strip cover most - with only 0,5 mm of the return edge showing on each side of the cover strip. The rest of what I need to cut, I guess I will take from the back / flat side. I am of course scared to take away to much, making it to small - but I think I can do this. The red scrambled part in the photo is the part of the front I want to cut away to make a nice fit for the cover strip. Of course with a bit better lines Does this look and sound like a good plan?
