  1. After waiting about 48 hours, (work, kids, kitchen remodel) here is what I turned up with: I still have a bit of trimming to do, as well as round the edges of the cover strips. Not a requirement but done to prevent catching clothing and comfort. Also I have plenty of E6000 to remove. Luckily it rubs off pretty easily with my thumb.
  2. Just a bit of fine tuning to the left forearm to get the fit just right. I did have a bit of length after I had the forearms lined up. I will make a cut here after I have the cover strip on, since this will be covered and not noticable. I roughed up in the inside to add ensure the strip I put inside the forearm could grip well. Alright first item to glue!!!! Now the wait begins
  3. For whatever reason I have had the hardest time with cutting cover strips. I finally came to this setup with some assistance from everyone that contributed to my post I came to find that even that I had my straight edge held down with spring clamps I was pushing too hard with my utility knife rather than gently scoring it a few times and then bending and snapping.
  4. Trial fit time!!! Lots of painters tape to get the sizing just right and see how the left bicep and forearms would slide on.
  5. Shoulder Bells now. From what I can tell there is no right or left shoulder bell and they can be used interchangeably. I went ahead and cut close to what appeared as the pull line
  6. Moving up the left arm the next stop was the left bicep. Left bicep also had a slight curve, as well as a thumbprint on the back section I left some return edge on each end of the bicep. Approximately 5-7 mm is what I kept not shown in this picture. I can always sand more away as necessary once I wear the armor more and find any pinch points.
  7. Started work on the forearms. I noticed and found from searching that the left forearms have a slight curve to it while the right is more straight I roughed trim the return edges on the wrist than took my dremel sanding drum and removed the rest of the return edge. Left Wrist Left Elbow
  8. what do you think now ShaShachu? I started it and really like the rounded teeth look now
  9. Sorry I have not been updating much but i have done a lot of the build. I was able to fix my vents lining up so now it looks much better. I just need to trim a bit of the brow so that the brow trim moves up and wont be covering the eyes.
  10. My bad I should have been clearer. But yes I did mean the corners. Thank you!
  11. Should the edges be rounded sightly at the ends of the forearm and bicep coverstrips?
  12. Thank you Justjoseph63! Is there a shape to the coverstrips at either end? I saw a pic on the forums before but now I cannot find it
  13. https://photos.app.goo.gl/aA9wXIKjva7v4xr63 i think I need to do better
  14. Hi all, How straight do the coverstrips need to be? I imagine they should be but was not sure how much leeway there is.
  15. Here is how I currently have the forearms taped together: Right forearm Wrist end Right forearm elbow end Left Forearm wrist end Left forearm elbow end I'm not making these too small am I? I know it is to fit and how it looks on the individual wearing the armor. I was not sure if how I have it setup I would have issues with "butt and cover" attaching
  16. How can I tell which is left or right for the forearms? I think I have them right
  17. Thanks Sean and justjoseph. I was wondering about the square part. I have been taking a Dremel to the inside sanding it down to completely remove the edge. Definitely easier to remove now than later.
  18. I am unsure on how to begin trimming my forearms. My understanding is there should be no return edge on the wrist side so I should cut out the below as drawn correct? For the edges should I cut out the entire shaded green area? or leave a portion for the butt and cover joint? The top of the fore arms should have some return edge from my understanding. Probably start here and sand down as necessary? And the other long side of the forearm, trim out as necessary for the butt and joint?

  20. I am not sure if my alignment is correct for the trapezoids. I believe i have the vent tubes lined up correctly but not sure if the trapezoids are off. My goal is centurion level approval. Left Side Right Side
  21. Any idea if this is normal? Should the back of the exterior shell and the face plate vent line up better?
  22. Thank you Frank1769! Really just diving in and being as fearless as I can be. I finally got around to updating the build thread with my posts and pics from my Google Photos drive. Full size image for easy viewing pleasure until I get something to post them directly here
