  1. Here's one of him and his cousin planning an attack! He'll be using a light saber he took off of some Jedi scum!
  2. That's awesome! Thanks for posting. Keep 'em coming!
  3. Essential HWT gear. First thing I acquired ...
  4. I forgot to mention that after basic TK admission, my next goal is to qualify as a HWT. I already have all of the accessories plus the components to make the pack (without the antenna!). My primary focus was to get the foot in the door of the 501st and go from there! Anyhoo, since gaps are allow for the lower levels, I guess I was over engineering a solution for a problem that didn't exist! What I'll simply do is just install longer elastic bands on the Left and Right sides. I could cut them down as I get to "centurion" level physique!
  5. I thought that it would be fun to see the little ones. Here's one of my future troopers:
  6. This is the version that I got earlier this year for comparison.
  7. Thanks but I still think that I need to make adjustments because the left side elastic will be stretched out and the right side will look wonky as only one elastic strip will be holding it. I know the belt may help but I think that'll look horrible. Plus I'll be stressing the fabric, rivets, etc.
  8. Excellent! You guys are great. Thanks
  9. I tried all of the links but you know what, they all work now! It was a brand new account and I hadn't verified the email address before I started trying to upload the links. After I verified the email address, I closed out and logged back in and voila! Thanks man!!!
  10. Figured it out. Here are some pics of the "current state"
  11. Hello all! So I finally received my full "commish" RS ANH stunt armor after about a 5 month wait (well worth it, btw) and all fits well except for the torso. Apparently it shrank during the arduous trip to the US from the UK ..... Ha! What really happened was that I couldn't shut my pie-hole during extensive business travel over the past 5 months and managed to gain some weight. So since I'm keen to get into the 501st ASAP (and I don't want to wait 1-2 months to loose the weight), I need to install some temporary shims that connect the ab/kidney pieces so that at least I could get into the 501st and start my trooping career. I still need to take the left side apart and try the armor on, tape, measure, etc. to figure out the exact gap on each side but I estimate up to a max 2" gap on each side. My plan is to join the 501st at the basic level and eventually work my way up the certification levels. So I don't want to make any changes to the armor (holes, permanent glue, etc.) as I know that I'll fit into it as it currently is within a few months. I ordered some 4 x 24" shim plates from Trooperbay and have some other basic supplies (E6000, Velcro, etc) So what I need is a method that: 1. Will pass muster for basic 501st approval 2. Looks decent, 3. Is user friendly (easy to get in/out of) and, 3. Is "reversible" in that it doesn't leave any permanent holes or doesn't damage the armor when removing as I'd like to shoot for Centurion level in the future. The ab/kidney connections on the left side are 3-1" elastic strips attached to the armor with split rivets (3 on each side). On the right side is the one elastic strip with a snap that's glued to the armor. My apologies for not uploading pics. I'm having some issues linking pics using Imgur. As soon as I tackle that I'll link some pics. Here are some of my ideas: - My initial thought was to just cut out a 4" wide shim and use Velcro to attach it to both sides on each inside portion of the armor and be done with it! I could cut down the shims as I loose weight and then remove the Velcro and adhesive all together. My concern with this is that it won't give me much flexibility as I move and may damage the armor... - Another idea, for the left side, was to remove the bands, rivets, etc. and to attach the shim on one side of the armor (kidney side?) using Velcro and then make holes in the shim and re-install the elastic using rivets and just attach the bands to the other side using the existing hardware. For the right side, it would be a similar installation - I could remove the elastic band/snap (I think it was attached using E6000), attach the shim using Velcro, and then re-glue the elastic band/snap to the shim. Correct me if I'm wrong but for basic 501st TK approval, having more that one "seam" on each side shouldn't be an issue (?) Any pro's/con's to the above or new ideas! Thanks in advance!
  12. I'm having a bit of trouble linking pics to a forum post. I'm clicking on "Insert other media" and then "Insert Image from URL" and then copying the HTML link from Imgur into the box. When I click "Insert into Post" the line/banner just turns red and it doesn't do anything. What's going on? Thanks
  13. I didn't know that the helmet was that screen accurate! LOL. I guess that I was looking from a "501st" prospective - meaning that one has to do some additional tweaking to the helmet to make it a bit more "troop-able". I appreciate your knowledge and input! Sergio
  14. Hey, I appreciate the response and offer for the screen. I apologize that I wasn't clear before regarding the helmet. I actually had ordered the Anovos version back in March. Since then I've received it and painted and upgraded the interior with the electronics. Thanks!
  15. Thanks for all for your responses. I'll try to get some pics posted. I think I'll need about a 2" shim on each side. I ordered a few pieces of 4x16" ABS shim plastic from Trooper Bay. Since this is largely going to be a temporary extension, my plan is to keep all of the original hardware (snaps, elastic, etc.) 100% in tact and just attach the shims with industrial strength velcro. I'd prefer not to have any "gaps" at all in the torso area and manage the space diff with the shims. As I "reduce my size" (LOL), I could also trim down the shims - At least that's the plan! All of the other armor fits well. The only one that is on the tight side are the bicep pieces. I was also kind of surprised on how "cheap" the helmet was. I don't mean the "wonkiness" of the finish (I was expecting that) but the fact that the helmet is on the small side, comes with a cheaply cut and insterted piece of foam, no "grill" for the mouth part, and a soft plastic lens material that is like paper that's not even glued. I don't mind as much as I had already ordered an Anovos helmet which I fully decked out with UKS wraths upgrades. I need to get a solution going as I'm keen to get my approval for the 501st ASAP. Thanks
  16. Hello All, Was just able to try on my RS Propmasters full commission TK armor after a long 5 month wait. However, the complete torso (clamshell style) seems to be a bit small. Lengthwise it's fine but it doesn't exactly "close" on the open side - about 2-3" off. Maaaaybbee it has something to do with the 10 or so "elbows" that I gained whilst waiting for the past 5 months (and tons of business travel). So assuming I can adjust the hardware, is there an allowable "side gap" allowed for purposes of the 501st or do both sides have to meet? I thought I've read people adding a strip of ABS to fill in the gap. Any suggestions would be great.
  17. Update. I received the goods last week! Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to check it out as I was out of town. It was about 7 weeks over their 8 week turnaround. I'll post an update when I've had a chance to check it all out.
  18. Hello All I placed an order for a full TK commission with RS Propmasters on April 16, 2017. Their customer service was great up to the time I submitted the order. They indicated 8 weeks. They even emailed me in mid-May saying that it'll be shipped "within the week". What a freakin' tease!!! So the eight weeks (was was around mid June) has come and gone and all I get from them now is a "we had to re-do something or other, it'll be out ASAP". That's even if they decide to respond as it takes me about 5 emails each getting progressively LOUDER to get a response. I've also called and they don't answer the phone. Is anyone else currently experiencing the same delay and/or horrible customer service issues from RS? Any ideas here? The only email that I have is [email protected] which "Andrea" apparently handles. Does anyone happen to have another email or Phone? I just want to make sure that I'm getting ripped off. I wanted to be in the 501st by our Florida Supercon which is the end of the month but I that's not happening.... Thanks
  19. I get my RS commission sometime over the next week or so. Andrea got me worked up the beginning of May indicating that mine would ship mid May. I had followed up with her since then about 3-4 times and she hadn't responded. Rob (at RS) finally got back to me yesterday with an update and some actual pics. They were working on the can. I'll drop a note after receipt and first donning...
  20. Will do! They told me that they were building it as of Monday the 15th so it should be shipping soon.
  21. While I did "gut" the interior of my helmet (i.e., took out the lens, mouth screen and crappy head band that I was going to replace anyways), I did not have to take my helmet apart to paint it with the spray can version of Plastidip. The nozzle has enough reach to get inside. What I did was not go crazy with spraying heavy coats/layers. I sprayed 4 layers. Three could have done but I sprayed one last coat for good measure. It dries really quick in between coats - 30 min or so. I've used the paint brush version and don't really like it much. It's spreads very unevenly in my opinion.
  22. Very slick and clean!!! It makes me want to take mine down and start all over!
  23. My TK armor should be coming within the next few weeks so I wanted to get a head start on my lid and just finished installing my upgrades. I figured that it would be fun to share pics of the insides of some lids. Painted mine with Plastidip (spray), installed MICH helmet pads, a ton of velcro, cut down and re-attached original lens, fan kit (2 fans), a Hovi Mic System, amp and an iComm, a hearing assist system (SHA), batteries and an MP3 player for TK chatter. My is a Anovos Original Trilogy lid with some upgrades from Ukswrath. You can check out my build thread and more detail on the lid components here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41649-newbie-ragtooth-starts-his-tk-journey/
  24. I decided to go ahead and install UKSWrath's SHA (hearing aid). I also re-purposed an ancient iPod mini (or whatever that's called) and imported a few TK Chatter tracks (thanks to Daniel Carlton's posts on YouTube. I just converted the track to an mp3 and imported to the iPod via iTunes). Check it out: So here's "What's in my Helmet". I'm hoping this helps some other "newbs". It was a lot of trial and error for me. Starting from bottom center and moving clockwise: 1 - The white wire (that's barely in the photo) is the unidirectional mic. Here's better pic: I have it positioned to where it's just above my lip so it's out the way when I'm not talking (so my breath doesn't activate the iComm). It's held by velcro. I just pull it down to my lips with my upper lip to talk and then let it go when I'm done. 2. One of two fans. I bought the completed bracket with two fans and two switches (one for each fan) from UKSWrath. Find it all the other components here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35211-ukswraths-go-to-thread/ 3. The "Amp 2" from the Hovi Mic system. Also from UKSWrath. 4. The black cylindrical piece is actually about 30 fender washers that are taped up and velcro'd on. I needed this for weight on the left side of the helmet to act as ballast to counter the weight of the components on the other side. 5. Top center is the mini ipod which is connected to the Amp for additional TK chatter coming from the HOVI tip/mic's. I ordered a 12" 3.5mm cable from Amazon that I'm going to use to connect it (not in the pic). 6. About 1 o'clock is the volume control for the SHA Hearing Assist unit. The two mic's are installed from the inside behind the helmet "ears" (don't know what that's called). I drilled some small holes in the black tabs to help with the hearing. I put some skateboard tape on the knob so that you can adjust the volume with one finger. You can hear EVERYTHING! It works well. The only thing is that you also pick up the sound of the fans from the inside. I think it may be picking up the vibration of the fans so I'm going to try to insulate the fans a bit and see if that reduces the sound a bit. 7. At about 3 o'clock (stacked up) is the iComm from the Hovi system. Underneath that is a 3500 mAmp Ankar round cylindrical battery for the fans. The black box under the battery is the box for the 9V battery for the SHA system. 8. Lastly bottom right (about 5 o'clock) is the second fan. I used 1/4 flex tube from Harbor Freight to try to keep it clean. Let me know if you have any questions!
  25. I decided to do with something easier for my next project and give the DLT-19 a "used and abused" look. This is the RS Propmasters DLT-19. Before: After:
