  1. Hi all, could I get 501st access? Thanks! TB-21202 http://501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=24637
  2. That's a great tip going with a white sole, thanks!
  3. Haha! It's true, I'm a city gal so my Legacy Road goes right through you!! So Greg, should I assume: no elastic, no seamlines on the sides, just the strap up the front? I'm pretty handy with a sewing machine and working with leather so I can probably modify it however is necessary on my own, just wanted to make sure I'm getting the most logical boot to start with. Thanks!
  4. HOLY CRAP is this helpful!!! How did I miss this build thread before??? Thank you so much! This welcome is amazing. Definitely motivated to get started even sooner!
  5. Oh for sure the 501st approvable Legacy TK one. I'm sorry I didn't realize the term 'Femtrooper' could also refer to ... that ... Will use the correct terminology moving forward. Thanks for pointing that out!!
  6. I've been lurking in these forums for a while, planning to start a build, but didn't want to pull the trigger on the armor yet without knowing for sure if there are any approvable boots out there. (I've read about how unreliable Gio is and I am not getting burned by a shady seller) Are painted/dyed elastic panel chelsea boots approvable? I've seen a few people in these threads make great looking boots doing this but haven't seen for certain if they have been approved that way. The CRL says no zips or buckles but has no mention of an elastic panel? I can add the strip up the front myself, just wanted to make sure painting a boot like this: https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Vegan-Leather-Chelsea-Boot/dp/B018T2NIKO/ref=sr_1_4?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1487870315&sr=1-4&nodeID=7141123011&keywords=flat+chelsea+boots would be OK. Thanks for any help! Looking forward to getting started soon!
  7. Thanks, Steve! I'm in the city. I'm both excited and disappointed there isn't a ECG fem already ... excited to maybe, possibly be the first ... disappointed there isn't someone nearby already who I could ply with pizza and margaritas to get some tips or even an up-close look at her build. Thankfully there are some wonderful, wonderful build threads here and I've already gathered through my reading that many aspects of the strapping and elastic and snap plate construction are similar to the standard TKs so I think I have a good idea from the tutorials of what needs to be done.
  8. Hi there! I'm an RL member also hoping to join the dark side and about to pull the trigger on the (edit: I mean the Legacy Female TK) armor. I'm the kind of person who needs to read everything first and plan everything before I buy so I've been pouring over all the build threads and gathering a ton of useful information. The only stumbling block so far is joining the forums of my local garrison to see if there are local armor parties, etc., to join. Could anyone in the downstate New York area maybe push along my approval for the 501stecg forums? (same username) Yes I know there's elections now but it's been a couple months since I tried joining the forums and it still says waiting approval. Or if not, any of my fellow New Yorkers have any advice before I start gluing and sanding? Anyway I'm looking forward to my build and learning from you all!
