I spent and hour on my ears today. The fit for the most part from my first attempt. But they needed a little adjusting. (ignore the paint job, I'm still touching it up)

I did my forearms once and didn't like how they fit. So I trimmed a little more and gave them a bath before I try again.

I've been busy lately so my build has been on a back burner. Luckily I'm not in a rush. However I curved my lenses, glued in some Chicago screws, and set the lenses in. I ended up using modeling clay for the bottom screw on each lens. I molded the clay around the screw and then set it in place. Then let the clay air dry overnight and glue the clay into place.

I was so afraid to do this but I made the leap and started. Using Cricket's build thread for support. I also sliced the cod. Here's the start. My ABS paste is still simmering. I'll post the results of the reattachment.

Next weekend I'll be slicing cod with your thread handy for support! This is awesome!

Thank you so much for linking me to that Cricket. I had put it aside to think about. Your thread is wicked helpful!! I think I'm going to try to replicate what you did. I think I'll be able to get away with just trimming and reattaching the cod. I was just nervous on making the leap lol

Got some painting done today

I want to fit the lenses before I put the helmet together again. What is the best way to give them that curve. Heat gun?

My boots arrived!

I figured while I had my helmet apart I'd dip it. Painters tape and a plastic bag on both pieces.

If I didn't have boobs this wouldn't be as much of an issue. They sort of get in the way of the top of the ab making the cod come down too low. So I'm trying to figure out the best way to fit properly.

Do many people disconnect the cod from the abdomen and use strapping? I saw it in Pandatrooper's old build thread. If I don't do that I might need to trim the top of the abdomen.

For sure. I'm saving up some money for boots so the shins will wait for those. I have plenty to work on in the meantime. For sanding an polishing ABS sludge patches what should I use?

Took a little break from my helmet today to trim and fit my legs. I was worried about my thighs at first but they fit perfect once I trimmed enough.

Well I just took forever to removed the rivets on my helmet. There was a gap between the forehead and the cap that I thought wouldn't be a problem after I put the ears on but I was wrong and it bothered me. So I'm going to fix that up and try again. Kind of a bummer but it's not unsaveable yet.

So I think my ears turned out better than I thought they would. Too much gap? Not enough gap? I watched ANH last night...for science. I saw some with crazy gaps.

I was thinking the same CTID. I'm going to give it a go tomorrow and see how it looks.

Hammering was not working out, so I went to Joann's this weekend and picked up this magical item. Worth every penny (with coupon!) Also might have one ear close to ok The other one is frustrating me. But at least I have tomorrow off to keep working on it.

I worked on my ears today for what felt like forever. Still don't quite have them the way I want them so they'll have to wait till next weekend.

Today was riveting (pun intended) Should these gaps concern me?
