  1. Wasn't sure where to write this/figured it was worth sharing in a public manner, but I made slot connections for both sides of kidney/ab connection and the pressure of my belt keeps everything nice and lined up! I was just test-fitting and realized it was solid and keeps it looking good. I have no straps at  those connections, just the slots, and it seems to be working well for me!

  2. Looks good so far! What are you working on next?

Oh, and I've been posting on both my garrison forums and here since I tend to get more opinions here, but my garrison is very helpful with pointing me in the right direction when I need to buy supplies! Hopefully you find us helpful here!

Lastly, I don't know how picky people are with nothc alignment. I just haven't been worrying about it at all.

  3. I just noticed...unless I'm all wrong, you're using the snap pieces incorrectly...cap goes with female part and the other piece goes with the male part. From what I've seen, snap plates are normally male and straps have female snaps. I noticed it in your shoulder strap. One shows caps and the other shows the underside with male parts.

I have no idea if this would impact the usability. Just something I noticed.

I find it interesting that we did things in very different orders. My final tasks right now are closing the sides and gluing on shoulder bridges, whereas you're doing this part before your legs and all...that may just be me having to comply with Canadian winter and the garage being cold though. Hah.

  4. You shouldn't need to cut anything off the kidney off the top and bottom edges. Keep a small return edge where the pieces will meet (back to kidney, kidney to butt). If you assemble everything and it seems too long, then maybe consider it, but that should only be the case for very short troopers!

  5. If your kidney and ab plates are not sitting flush together, you can add a shim using spare ABS to close the gap. If you look up TK 1636's videos on youtube, he does this for the trooper for whom he is building the armour in the videos.

From what I can gather, you will have to wear your armour a bit lower and have longer elastic straps over your shoulder and have less of your shoulder bridges glued on your chest plate, but I haven't done the research to say that 100%. There are a number of people who are taller who have build threads. Reviewing those and some Centurion applications from taller troopers should help you.

  6. To keep the sides aligned, even with the belt on, I added a tab/slot configuration using spare ABS.

When I put on the ab/kidney/posterior combo, I slide the tab into the slot I created, and then slightly stretch the snap to hold it all together.

This keeps the belt from pulling the bottom inward, and making everything out of alignment.

Just an idea to consider. :)

Did you do this on both sides? I'm curious! Been thinking about doing something similar.
  7. I notice in UKSWRATH's build that he glues in straps in many places where others recommend snaps. For example, he glues down 3 of the 4 chest to back bridge straps as well as the shoulder bell straps. Any reason to do it one way vs the other besides screen accuracy?

Think it's kind of a convenience thing. Less snaps costs less and gluing right in means it won't unsnap. However, this could be an issue if you want to take your chest and back apart when packing. If you are going to be using a 50 gallon box though, shouldn't be a problem.

  8. For centurion, you will have to ensure your chest does not come over our ab, your ab buttons need to be painted, your holster should only have two rivets vice four (unless you go for hero, which has other implications), your drop boxes should line up with the ends of your ABS belt, along with everything else discussed here so far. I'm on my phone so I can't tell if you got latex hand guards and rubber gloves.

  9. Wow, that looks like a lot to take off the biceps! Not familiar with how your armour comes out of the box, but is your bicep tight against your arm when you have it taped like that? Your bicep will be attached to your shoulder bell to keep it in place, so it should have some room in there and doesn't need to really hug your arm. In any case, I would trim off the same amount from each side. Keep in mind that your forearm cover strip should like up with your bicep cover strip (ideally), so maybe tape those up and check to see how that looks.

Oh and regarding your thighs above, wait till you put your shins together. You should have some motion but not full motion at the hips so, wait before trimming.
