1. Shoot, I wished I knew that. So what you're saying is the front should be the 15mm (in the case of the arms). The back can be different based on sizing. I thought the front and back needed to be same.
2. I've seen several threads regarding the widths (15mm for arms, 20mm front legs, 25 back of legs, etc.). I'm trying to build to Centurion requirements. My question is if the cover strip needs to cover the entire flat joint area. In other words, if the flat joint area measures 25 mm, does my cover strip then need to be 25mm or can I use the 15mm to be accurate?
3. Thanks Richard, looks like you and I are just about at the same point in the build. By the way, how's the return edge on your chest plate? Mine is so narrow. Right now, that's the piece I'm the most worried about.
4. Thanks Joseph, I knew about the return edge on the wrist side but not the opposite edge thanks. I measured a couple times cut it to "size" then realized that it needs to fit the gloves. So it may be a little tight now. But I haven't glue anything yet since I'm in the fitting stage.
5. I'm about 5'10" 165 lbs, relatively small build. I've been sizing/trimming my biceps and forearms. How should the armor fit? How much gap should I allow? Should it be snug enough to stay in place with the undersuit on (without straps) or should it be slightly bigger being held in place eventually with the straps.
6. Now that it's after the holidays, I'm picking back up. I have a question about the biceps. Does the lower part (closest to the elbow) need a return edge. I bought AP armor and it doesn't really have much of one. videos that I've seen show it. I'm wondering if I need to heat what I have to create one.
7. Thanks, good idea for the trimming. As for the return edge. I did think of adding a piece to create a shim.
8. Hey all, I've been sitting on this build for quite a while. 10 months. Life kind of got in the way and time flies. The most I've done is some basic trimming. So now that things for me have calmed down a little, I'm finally going to start up again. I'm been to a couple of armor parties early on (before I had my armor) just to check them out but since then the offerings have dried up in my area. So I decided to start this thread to show my progress but mainly to ask for guidance before I do anything stupid. I've been watching TK1636's youtube videos and have a few questions: Looks like the abdominal plate side are too long. I've taped the area that I'm thinking needs to be removed. This is it compared to the chest plate. My second question is that I wanted to go with the bracket system rather than snaps. Anyone have any thoughts on how wide the return edge should be? My chest is really narrow and now I'm not sure if I want to attempt drilling holes in it (risking the chance of cracking). I've bought the wire and made my own brackets.
9. I'm just starting out with my first build. I've decided to go with the brackets system (making my own brackets). The question I have is what screws to buy. I'm seen several build videos and they're using #4 flat head slotted (not phillips) screws. I've been to Lowe's and Home Depot and looked on Amazon. The closed thing I can find it phillips. Does it have to be slotted?
10. I made my decision. I am going with ANH Stunt from AP. I really like the ROTJ armor but it was much more pricey. In addition to the armor, everything seemed more expensive too.
11. Didn't know about the import laws. What about export laws. I'm in the States. Will I have any issues receiving it?
12. Thanks, I wasn't saying it wasn't it wasn't a good blaster. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas to give me more options.
13. Thanks for the feedback. I guess this brings up another question...can anyone offer where I can buy an accurate well made one.
14. I'm looking at getting a blaster. I'm buying my armor from AP. They sell the blaster for $170. Has anyone purchased one? I'm wondering about the workmanship and quality. I don't have the tools, space, or know how to build one from a kit. But if there's a big enough cost difference, I may give it a go.
15. I'm a curious new member. I've done research over the past couple weeks. I've looked at the reference pictures and read through the differences. But in non technical layman's terms, what is it about your armor that you like and what don't you like about the others. I hate to say the differences are subtle but for the most part, the armor is very similar. I personally like the look of the ROTJ armor but it seems the least popular and considered the black sheep. Am I missing something? I haven't purchased my armor yet and I want to take everything into consideration.
16. Thanks Mathias. I've been a fan since I saw Star Wars in the theater back in 1977. I'm so impressed with everyone's ability to tell the differences between the different armor. I'm definitely not there yet. I've read through various threads and I've looked through pictures. I guess it comes with time. For some reason the ROTJ armor called to me but most of the makers only offer ANH. Now I have another newbie question. Is the armor different that I need to order the ROTJ armor? Or can I order the ANH and with tweaks "make" it ROTJ? I contacted Tray Nichols and was told "The armor is ANH but I am sure with some white trim and proper paint this kit can work for ROTJ". I wanted to ask the experts. Am I out of luck with no choice but to go with ANH instead?
17. Thanks Joseph but is there a way to search for someone to send them a PM? How do I search for them in order to see their avatar?

Thanks
18. Hey Everyone, This is my first post/question. I'm 5:'10" about 165 lbs. I'm looking for ROTJ armor. I think I have narrowed down my choices to a few vendors (although I'm open to suggestions). This is probably a really big noob question but how do I PM someone. More specifically, is there a way to search for the person to PM.
