  1. well.. okay.. so lets be clear on all this boyz.. I'm a female.. I don't like flying bugs.. so if I'm going to be outside with bees and wasps while Troopin' sometimes... well then screen to keep em out is a bonus! No one likes bees in their bonnets right? And I know I must Ken-ify my bucket so the screen can be removed if he's around.
  2. Ooo.. the scary part of that was when I actually pondered how to do it for a moment!!!
  3. Brattie - the screen door trooper - Laugh Here she comes to save the day... it's Brattie the screen door trooper on her way!!!! Theme Song LAUGH
  4. - laughs - Or be told to wear mesh shirts all the time?
  5. I know right! LAUGH!! I think I'll Mesh the HELL out of my frown too!!! ~ evil grin and waits for the flood of replies to start.. ~
  6. Noo Plastidip or you just don't like it? I like the look of the black inside for the main purpose of having it look more like a real helmet
  7. Recap Hey guys.. I was just trying to remember ... if the inside of the bucket is plasti-dipped does Velcro still stick to it?
  8. A-Aron - Thanks ! I couldn't find it when I was there but now that I know to check Plumbing I will for sure. It hardens really good right? I want to use it to create posts for screwing in my Lenses when I adjust them. What kind of "Car Shops"?
  9. Thanks A-Aron.. now I just have to find a Harley place! Looks like this is the closest
  10. In honor of my new Rank in the forum (Major) I am posting this video
  11. Understood Sir! I will hunt for a Harley store.. ooo hopefully I'll get to sit on some bikes and pretend I have the money for them before asking for polish! Laughs
  12. FYI Just a heads up - I have taken some time to go through my wicked thread with all the pointers and recommendations for different items and summarized them on the First Post First Page Build status section. If you have any other ideas / recommendations / or points that should be noted on items we've discussed in the past 15 pages please let me know so I can add it to that list. I want to be able to look at that first post during the build etc to be sure I cover all items without having to hunt for them. Thanks all! Now back to your regularly scheduled rambling about build stuff...
  13. I would think a little polish would help prevent sun and other damage. Many plastics are porous so I would think ensuring they had a coat of protection would be a good idea. A good example of this would be on a car that has plastic bumpers. If you have ever gotten some car wax on the plastic it is very difficult to get it off. Also Sun can fade most plastics, so I'd want to ensure mine was protected from that. I am very interested in ensuring my armor looks great but also will last for MANY MANY years.
  14. Alright.. question time... for when my BBB arrives. Armor Polish Do you polish AP armor? I have worked outside for most of my life so weather rarely stops me from doing things I enjoy. With that said I plan on ensuring that all holes and such of my bucket are sealed other than vents for the frown and eyes to prevent fogging. But I will be ensuring all electronics are protected in case of rain / snow / etc. So.. Rain X on the lenses.. but what about Wax / Polish on the AP armor? To give it that new Armor shine and protection from sun and other damage? I have heard others talking of some polish of sorts.. what polish truly works for AP armor? Some have compounds that could scratch plastic.. so I want to be careful.. What would you use? Let me know in comments below... Hey.. I'm a poet and didn't know it!
  15. umm sure.. sounds great.. yeah!!!
  16. That sounds kind of scary.. how difficult is this to accomplish?
  17. I still want information on this Hot Tub thing!!! Laugh
  18. What's the "hot Tub" trick? ~ picturing Troopers floating around in a hot tub... Laugh ~
  19. LOL!! Big shout out to A-Aron who has given me nightmares now due to the NOTCH effect!!! Check out A-Aron's build here for pictures.. awesome work! Thanks all for sharing.. I am looking forward to my armor. Life the past few weeks has been hebetudinous. (Lacking in liveliness or animation - AKA :dull) Of course I am taking into account that there is a massive snow storm coming our way and it's depressing. Laugh. I was all excited for spring! I want to go back and bring up the Donations again for my Relay for Life I mentioned a while back. But I haven't heard from any of the FISD Staff as I had sent in a request to be able to post about it in my thread. Sigh.. I really need donations/sponsors to support me during the run on June 11th. It's hosted via the Canadian Cancer Society and I'll be walking for some dear friends of mine that have passed away recently. Fingers crossed I hear from them soon as I'd really like give out information. The bonus is that I am not accepting money directly. It goes through a web page directly to RFL (Relay for Life) but through my RFL Page showing that I'm getting donations/sponsors. I am hoping to have my armor ready by June 11th for it. Either way I need to start raising money. I hope they get back to me soon.
  20. - Shudders at the notch pictures - Awesome work A-Aron.. thanks for sharing the pictures!! I swear I am going to have Notch Nightmares!!
  21. Okay.. so I'm glad I held onto extra bits of foam from making the binders
  22. thanks A-Aron - I'll have a look for them They are out of Stock in every location in my area. Laugh
  23. A-Aron - What is the brand so I can check that out? I'm all up for being prepared to prevent sore feet. That leads me to another question. I have heard of Armor Pinch.. and I was wondering just how often that happens? What other tips or tricks to people have for making their Armor more comfortable? Like - Do you use padding on the inside of different pieces?
  24. Other questions I have are: How often do people Troop? what is the longest time you've spent in your Armor? I'm so glad the warmer weather is arriving
