Yeah definitely do your research before you go out and buy a crap quality eBay knock off

Vetted sellers all dish out good products.
-
Yeah but for you it should cost you less to buy it because your dollar to our dollar is astronomical right now. We are at 72 cents to your dollar lmao.
-
Btw, is the spring supposed to be left silver or should it be black?
-
I also have spoken with AP and he seems to offer a VERY nice kit also.... any opinions or knowledge on him??
I have been dealing with Mark at AP since I just purchased the armour from him. So far he's been great and communicates well and asnwers my annoying questions.
If you are within Canada, it's a great place to buy from...
Saves the USD exchange rate, shipping, customs and the all around wait time.

I do have a home hardware here and went and picked up some random wire since I couldn't find a suitable spring... I don't really need the spring ability, just need it to look like it is a "real spring" so I kinda made my own.
It should be fine since I don't actually plan on making the cocking action work.
Couldn't find anything in the right size to twist it around until I stumbled upon a highlighter lmao.
It's not great looking but I am hoping it should work.

Lmao. Okay works for me. I bought some wire that I'll spray paint and probably just make my own spring then.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey guys, found a good place to buy a E-11 but they don't supply them with the internal spring...
I was wondering if you guys knew of a place where I could find a spring that was 3/4" diameter and around 7 inches in length?
I've looked online and had a tough time trying to find the right style of spring that is in the E11's...
Best I could find was this at 6" but I am not sure if stretching it the extra 1" would give it the right look. http://www.hardwareandtools.com/century-spring-c-856-3-4-inch-od-compression-spring-uecb-7905.html
In all honesty, the spring itself looks a little thick and I can't seem to find one that's thinner.
Any help would be appreciated.

RS props is a very reputable place for armour. I haven't had any actual dealings with them but they are a vetted seller on here and turn out really great kit based on what everyone has said here.

Their armour is definitely 501st approvable as long as it is fitted to you correctly.

Not sure why no one responded to this thread. But hey there and good to know your build went well. I'm pretty sure the boots aren't supposed to show a crease but I could be mistaken as I too am new to trooping.

You can buy good boots from imperial boots if you are really concerned with getting approved and they are relatively cheap and of good quality.
-
Yeah fair enough. I'll wait til I see what the majority of people say when they get their stuff to decide what I think of Anovos.

For now I see nothing wrong with them.
-
I have the boots! Couldn't decide what I was going to buy for my first armour so I have the First order boots and the regular TK boots lol.

I think I still will do a first order build at some point but not til it becomes more readily available from Anovos and other places in the future.
-
Thanks and that's good news! Just threw down my initial payment on the armour and they are starting the build. I am pretty pumped. Should have my armour in 2 months.

By "local", I am hoping you mean RT-mod or AP if you are looking for 501st approval... Both of these are awesome armorers in the "Great White North".
It's a vetted seller within Canada. Authentic Props. I didn't know they even existed but it's a 501st approved suit with Centurion level approvals as well.
RS props looks awesome too but honestly it will cost me way more ordering from somewhere outside of Canada between shipping, exchange rate and duty fees. Our Canadian dollar to USD is at 0.72 cents which is horrible and in pounds it's 2.2 x our CAD.
So this way I save money and get a good local, 501st approved set of armour that looks great in my opinion.

There's a "local" company that I am going with now.
Thanks guys.

They are not on the vetted sellers list for a reason. Stay far away from that site. He is a known re-caster and the end product isn't very nice. From what I've read here the helmet is wrong/needs to be replaced and you will spend a lot of extra time modifying and fixing the suite. More money then getting one from the vetted sellers.
Oh wow, that's very surprising to hear. I honestly thought his stuff looked decent, but I guess that's why I am still new to this and asking questions so I don't make the mistake of purchasing "bad quality" armour.
-
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has experience with this company.
Obviously they look very professional and good quality. Just want to know what you guys thought and the general turn around time for ordering armour.
I'm starting to think more and more about going with an ANH TK armour and these guys look pretty good.
UK based and actually make the armour sized to each individual person so helps for those who are terrible with tools or just want a ready to go set of armour.
I didn't see them in the Vetted sellers unless I misread something or they go by a different name on there so was just curious. Also apparently hold the original molds and such which is always nice.
Thanks guys.

It would be nice to get a few more shots from them filming to see better pictures of the stormtroopers.

I watched it twice and never noticed this. Guess I'll have to go for a third time.
-
It would still be 501st approvable even with that minor "mistake" right? As long as that's the case it's no big deal. Just nit-picking and perfectionism. At least for me, I'd be happy with it.
-
Buy her a kids one and paint it pink. Maybe then she will like it a bit more lol.

Anovos said:
"We are still producing the completed ensemble options as well as the standalone helmets. We are not canceling the kit version, simply putting it in the "ANOVOS Vault" until we know all existing pre-orders are fulfilled.
smile emoticon
This is a way for us to better serve customers and minimize disappointment should we be unable to ship due to low inventory. The kit option will likely return in late 2016."
So it looks like they will be coming back, just gonna be a long wait if you dont get it now.
I was literally about to post this!
-
Well it's good to see the ball has started rolling finally. I'm sure there will be many happy customers within the next month. Can't wait to see the build tutorials and photos.
-
I'll wait all day long for the quality I paid for. Still waiting for the FO FN kit so what's the difference really.
True enough. I'm in the same boat compadre.

All this work is kinda sketching me out for this being my first build. :/ I have no one around me to help me out either, or anyone that I know of at least.

I should have chosen an OG stormtrooper lol.

Only people I know of building the kits are Anovos, and Jimmiroquai on here.

I believe Jim is 501st approved with his armour but not sure if he had to change anything with his armour design to get that.

Your best bet would be PM'ing him or waiting for the Anovos kit to surface imo.
