A couple of questions:
For snap plates- any recommendations on how many, what size, etc? I would rather over-engineer than skimp so was considering using 2" nylon and 2 snaps on each. Will that be a pain? Should I have some locations single snap? I've seen some great diagrams here.
For rare earth magnets- what exactly should I be looking for? It seems like pricing is all over the place and I'm not sure exactly what I need. I intend to do little fabric satchels for them and would like to have a ton of them on hand, so cheap would be nice
The diagrams you found are what a lot of troopers followed. However, when it comes to the interior of how you want your armor to be held together, it is all preference. I recommend having more snaps. You can never have "too many" snaps. I believe your 2'' nylon and 2 snaps method is pretty standard. So a great choice.
Rare Earth Magnets. Again, up to you, but as long as they hold things down in place! Here is a great tutorial on which ones are recommended, and how to use them! Hope it helps.

Hey Jody. Welcome to the FISD. Are you looking to get some Armor? Or Have you already made your armor? Either way, we will help you get to the right place!

Easy Basic Approval Pass in my opinion. Well Done.

Hey A.J. I think this may be all preference. I use the 2'' Elastic for maneuverability and strength. I would suggest staying with elastic because of those reasons. You could use wider or shorter, as long as it all connects and keep everything together nicely.
The Strapping system is mostly up to the Trooper If you find something that may work better for you, I encourage you to give it a try and share it!

For a first time build and to make it easier on myself I've decided againts Vader, I've read his costume takes a long time to put together, and is probably the most expensive costume.
I'm looking more into kylo ren, I think I could make some components myself and but the rest. Also looking into a death trooper.
Hard question I know but on average what is the cost I should aim off for? I'm aware this isn't a cheap adventure at all but I'd like to know so I can start preparing the wife lol.
Hey Thomas and welcome to the FISD. Regarding your hard question, you can expect to pay roughly anywhere between $870-$2990 US dollars. You can see all the info on each piece of stormtrooper armor here:
Now, if your question on cost regarding Kylo Ren, you may want to sign up on the Sith Lord Detachment, they are more equipped to point you in the right direction for our lightsaber buddies.

anyone know the dimensions of the S rubber ?
30 inches long from Trooperbay. Depending on where you get it from, may be shorter or longer but generally, you can cut it to size if need be. But most troopers receive this trim from Trooperbay, which is perfect.
