    Hey all,

     

    Just finished assembling/painting/setting up the interior of my ESB style helmet (AP).

     

    I was looking for some feedback and had a couple of questions...

    I feel like the brow is a little too low.  Should I tilt it up higher?  If so, how high?

     

    The ear paint I used didn't dry to quite the right color to match the decals.  These are the Trooperbay ESB decals... can anyone recommend a good color match for the ear paint? Acrylic or Enamel is fine.

     

    Anything else particularly ugly/something I should clean up?

    I think it's a tad smaller than the stuff from Trooperbay, but I use it for all my helmets just fine.

     

    I buy it in bulk usually, but they sell by the foot.

    I just want to say great effort to everyone involved in the upgrade!  I know what a PITA this sort of thing can be, and the forums look awesome now!

     

    One request, if possible?  When posting a reply on the previous version of IPB I was able to toggle between a WYSIWYG and a BBCode view.  Is enabling BBCode view a part of the new version of IPB? (Or was I silly and just missed it...?)

     

    Again, awesome job!

    Hey Daniel! Strapping with snaps over velcro is so much nicers; you can make sure your armor consistently fits you the same way everytime!

     

    Be sure to start up a build thread to show off the conversion and ask any questions as you go along, they're a great way to get direct and detailed advice from some of our quite experienced builders :)

    Welcome aboard! As others have said, check out the getting started section. You'll also be well served to post a build thread in the appropriate section so others can help guide you along the way; I know when I did my first costume I had tons of questions!!! FISD is a fantastic place :)

    Armor Party - June 24 - Manchester CT

    Hey folks, proud to announce CTG is hosting an armor party this month! From our garrison forums:

     

    You know the deal! Fun time, swapping help, meeting new faces, and making some Star Wars costumes! June 24th, Portal! be there ;)

     

    I'd like to openly invite all recruits and active members to an armor party. We'll be building props, exchanging ideas, and helping each other.

     

    Dream of being a stormtrooper but find building a helmet overwhelming?

    Got a kit and don't know where to start?

    Need some advice on how to fix a blemish or break?

    Just want to hang out and meet new members?

     

    Come on down and join in on the fun :)

  21. Battlefront Jump Backpak

    The situation is this: I've dropped the ball on these guys. There is the original HWT from the old game, a new HWT type character as you see above, plus you have the Kyber and Jedha troopers from R1. All have to be dealt with.

     

    I'm at my kids lacrosse games all day today, a meet & greet tonight, more lax (lacrosse) tomorrow morning, then Cub Scouts tomorrow afternoon. So...a bit out of pocket to collate all the information and get something more comprehensive typed up this weekend.

     

    That said, it is my goal to do a comprehensive review of this costume and get everything sorted in the next few weeks. If someone wants to do all the research between now and then, I'd be grateful.

     

    What I want to get is a proposal to address all 5 costume variations, at the least the 3 that are OT based.

  22. Battlefront Jump Backpak

    Just to be clear, the Heavy Weapons Trooper is not in EA Battlefront, as there are no classes in the game but unlockable skins.

    To be pedantic, the exact definition of the Heavy Weapon Trooper is a bit nebulous based on the current CRL. It most closely represents the Battlefront *2* Shock Trooper class, but differs in several ways as well.

    Hey Guys,

     

    It's been a while - I've got the armor, soft parts, E11 Blaster however I have an issue, sadly the right Thigh Ammo pouch is broken and there really is no way to fix it. Can anyone suggest a seller where I can purchase a replacement that fits the criteria for the 501 as I understand the SDS version is not the correct shape for higher level ranks.

    Could you post pictures of the break? It might be fixable.

     

    I know AP and TrooperMaster sell replacement parts. I'm sure a couple other vendors do as well.
