Welcome to FISD! As others have pointed, that vetted makers list is a great place to start.

Is that kilt standard issue?

I have no idea why the same link didn't work before... but it seems to work now. Let me know

ESB has a repainted/decalled helmet, clam gloves, and a holster on the opposite side of the belt (looped instead of riveted). They also didn't bother with the counters/power cells on the E-11.
ROTJ is completely different, new mold, some of the faces are smushed too from a mold breaking during production.

RS is a great armor maker, the helmet will do you well.
That being said, I don't know if any helmet will be comfortable... vision in these is awful!

Welcome aboard Adam!
I'm not familiar with either of those sellers, but what I do know is you can easily bring a shine back to your armor after scuffs/scratches using Novos and some elbow grease. My husband is particular about always being shiny and it looks beautiful after use.
Great on you for going for Centurion right off the bat! it's easiest if you start your build with that in mind. One thing to remember with Centurion/EIB is that it's just as much about a good fit as it is about build specifics, so be sure to size it for your body with care. Post up a build thread and people here will be more than happy to help guide you/answer questions as you go along.
For blasters, it depends... The really awesome thing about being in the UK is you can get Deactivated Sterling L2A3s and build yourself a real (non-functional) E-11 without the headache of a reweld or transporting gun parts. However, lugging around a heavy blaster isn't for everyone. I swear by Hyperfirm blasters for Trooping, as they're made of a rubber that is extremely resilient. You can throw them on the ground and they'll bounce. They're also very light weight. I believe they're U.S. based though, and I'm not certain on other UK sellers on those. Sorry to say
Best of luck! Can't wait to follow your build

There's a few of us here. Just kinda flys under the radar I suppose since focus is elsewhere.

Welcome to FISD! Your height might be tough, but I've seen troopers over the 6' 2" range make it work!

RS is top notch stuff. You wouldn't go wrong with a kit from them

Also, I'm firmly opposed to going anywhere near an "anything goes" approach to accessories and weapons with our CRLs, simply because the video games allow you to do so in Multiplayer.
Agreed on the generation count and quoting this bit for emphasis. "Generation 1" Heavy Weapon Trooper needs a weapon tighten up to go along with the pauldron/weathering/backpack tightening up when we get some free time.

Removed the ears and pulled the brow up a bit. Looks much nicer now.
Unfortunately, the trim I bought seems to have caused a yellow "burn" on the abs... it seems to rub off with a cloth/novos/elbow grease, but I'm a tad worried about using the trim again now... Does rubber normally react with ABS like that? o.O

Hi Alay!
So happy you enjoyed my paper mâché helmets! And thank you too for the warm welcome!
I purchased from Mark Harrison at Authentic Props... after much research and asking questions from my local garrison. My BBB arrived the other day and its an understatement to say that I'm super excited!!
I stand about 5'9.5" and weigh about 165... on the slighter side of things... so after speaking with Mark, he confirmed that his armour would be a good fit for my body type as he stands 5'7" and it fits him well... so will easily fit me too.
I can't get over how many kind folks there are in this community and I'm so happy to have started my journey. Thank you for inspiring message and I'll be sure to be 'picking' the brains of all you wonderful people as my build gets underway!
Stay tuned for my upcoming build thread!!
~ the Dude signing off
AP is an awesome kit; my husband and I both wear it (5' 8" 125lb here, and he's 5' 8" 155lb). just finished an ESB-style helmet from another AP helmet kit! At that height/weight you should fit a build easily!
Are you building to Centurion level? If you're not... you should! It's super easy to do (a few extra rivets, some trim, and an extra snap) and you will have a top tier accuracy costume More info is in the Advanced Infantry section, I highly recommend it!

Can't wait to follow your build thread! If we can be of any help there's tons of great folks here at FISD =)

Making armor "thicker?"

Is Anovos armor truly that thin? I've never seen anything other than the helmet in person.
I'm downright mean with some of my armor pieces and other than the occasional scuff I've never had a crack or break.
