  1. Got more done. Still have to finish 1 bicep, TD, paint the belt pieces, and other misc pieces. Just about have enough money to order the cape. As for the boots and gloves, I might just have to paint them for now. I am having trouble finding someone who can get this done to the color I need and timely.
  2. Yes. Had to take a short break but I’m back at it. I’ll post pictures this week. All armor should be painted by then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Got some more painted this weekend and was able to assemble almost all of the upper pieces. I am going to need to figure out how to keep this scratching easily. I will take Glen up on the advice of putting the foam pieces under the yoke to abs so it does not scratch so easily. Since these are fiberglass, it does not give as much. If this keeps happening, I might need to go with the ABS yoke and abs. I am ordering the boots and gloves for Giovanni. Cape will be from Geeky Pink, once I get clarification on the border (silver or no border). Biceps will be next, I have some rework to do on the seams first (need the etch in the lines better and fix my overlap issue).
  4. Well, I guess I am on my own this weekend. Unfortunately, I did not hear from one of the four LMOs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hopefully before this weekend. I plan on working on this over the weekend. Wife is out of town so I have plenty of time...plus I am working on 2 FOTK commissions at the same time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I sent an email to the LMO today in order to get his/her opinion.
  7. I agree with everyone and will email the LMO to get their input on the cape and boots, what I have posted already, and their thoughts on primarily using the figure minus the helmet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Cape question: The picture from the book and the Action Figure show 2 different possibilities. The book version shows no stripe and worn on the right shoulder: The Action Figure shows the cape on the left shoulder with a silver border. Which one do I use?
  9. Anyone know who else other than Geeky Pink can make the cape?
  10. Finalizing yoke, chest and backplate. It appears the backplate on the figure has the circle part painted red. Since this is the only reference, do I need to paint this red or keep it black. Here is my backpiece: The black circle only has a light coat on it right now until I get confirmation on red or black. For the upper torso that is now painted but not assembled, here are the reference photos. I will post the final torso photos of my build this weekend including shoulder bells, biceps and forearms. Sneak peak of upper body parts going through final painting. This paint is very shiny, but I am concerned about is scratching or rubbing off. Typically I do not add a clear coat or some sort of protectant since I usually paint white over white. Anyone got any recommendations. I was just going to leave it as is, but I am concerned about the chest plate rubbing on the abs.
  11. Got the Black Series Figure in finally. Here is 1 picture. By looking at the back (no picture posted yet) there will be some painting differences from the FOTK. I will take some close-ups of the torso tonight (front and back), So I can finish that portion, once my case of paint comes in (12 cans).
  12. Imperial Boots will be making the red boots. Will be placing order shortly. As for the gloves, still got to figure that one out.
  13. Chest plate: Sanded down. It already had 3 coats of high gloss white paint on it. I added the first coat of Cardinal Red and it became apparent to me, that I would need much more. So I have ordered a case and should have later this week. Each piece will take at least 3 coats to make a pure color and high gloss. Here are the pictures:
  14. Starting on the upper torso. I am going to use my chest, back, abs, shoulder bells, cod and butt piece from MIMIC. This is flexible fiberglass and has amazing detail. Unfortunately, he never finished the entire ensemble so I only have those pieces from him (got them 2 years ago). As for the remaining hard armor, I am going to use the armor from KB Props (already have it built). All pieces will be posted and painted 1 at a time to ensure accuracy and comparisons to the figure and pictures from the book. Each piece will be shown in detail as I build. Here is the torso. The bright white expansion piece will be removed. I added it when I weighed 30 pounds more.
  15. Got the figure coming on Wednesday. Can’t wait to get started on hard armor. Anyone know the best way to paint the boots and gloves? So the paint does not easily come off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks for the photos. These will help. Also, my figure should be in by Friday. Had to buy it for double the price from someone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Finished the helmet (with some minor detail work left). Below are the photos showing the painting and the removal of the tape. Finished Helmet: Next I will begin the chest armor, yoke and backpiece.
  18. I ordered a case of what I that was Cardinal Red and ended up getting some purple paint. That sucks...I wasted $50 on that paint. I have new paint coming, but in the meantime, I have prepared the helmet. First i taped up the areas I did not want to paint red. This was a fun thing to do ... Once taped, I sanded down and added 2 coats of gray primer. Now just waiting on the spray paint to come in.
  19. Secured the action figure. Cost me an arm and a leg, but i should get it in September. Also, anyone know where I can source a really good blaster and sidearm for this? I have 3D printed ones for my FOTK, but I would like something more sturdy and durable that I could paint.
  20. I added additional photos above. I think the Cardinal Red is going to be the way to go.
  21. HELMET: I am using the Anovos Standard TFA Helmet. The one in the pictures below is one that I already have. It is a great candidate for painting since I have a few finish issues on it. I am planning on using the following paint, unless people are aware of a better option. I did paint a helmet for someone many years ago and it looked really good. This was from a previous paint job using the above paint. This is NOT the helmet I will be using. Pictures were taken in 2017 and not the final of the helmet. This in ONLY to get feedback on the proposed paint. Comparison of Figure / Book Jacket back cover...Colors are difficult due to quality of pictures. I am definately going to need a better one of the figure and another of the back of the book (if anyone has access to it).
  22. Thank you for the info.

  24. Started the thread on at the following location:
  25. REFERENCE PHOTOS: Not sure if this is the correct version of the photo from the book, so if it not, let me know. I did see some that appeared to be altered. Online pictures of Black Series Figure (will be replaced with ones I take once i get a figure...) The quality of the picture is not good enough for me to zoom in and see the detail.
