This is a cool weathering pattern! It's very "real world" for a used/issued/military/enlisted weapon. It mirrors some of the M4s and M16s we had in our armory, back in the day.

Contemplation getting one of these and doing a similar conversion to an E11. That end cap tho... good to know an original end cap wont fit. any luck modding the airsoft end cap? i wonder if there is ANY way to get an original sterling grip to fit.. HMMMM

So, I just read through this whole thread... GREAT build. I am a 100% rookie and plan to get a kit from Phoenix Props as soon as i can. In the mean time, I have been reading threads like yours and learning as much as I can. I love the mods you have done and hope do follow in your foot steps with my build. The "p word" is my biggest worry too. My paint experience stops at horrible spray paint jobs... so it will be interested to see what approach you take. Ps.
