  1. Hey there

Does anyone else worry having the snaps inside your armor eventually create bumps from repeated use?

I thought of the following process after seeing some snap posts

Take a piece of ABS and mark up a grid with a ruler:

Then mark a hex so you can find the middle of each square:

Then scratch up both sides for glue adhesion:

Next create a base to hold the marked up ABS:

Then using a spade big cut out the holes. I used another piece of wood to hold the ABS still.

Eventually you have all the circles cut out:

Take it back to your table and cut out the squares. I used score-n-snap but scissors are just as good:

Glue to the underside of your snap: 73ac887e0ca54d613aeafea3033fc0d1.jpg

Most times I used 1 piece but sometimes I needed more. All in all they turned out well and now the snap has a cushion:

Also, is anyone going to try to build a jump pack?

That'll be a great add for troopers in hot climates. You could add a cooling system in there.

  3. The clamping force may be the key here. The tighter the circumference the more difficult it will be to align the two halves. I would suggest reapplying the strip and this time in addition to the clamps and magnets place something of weight on top of it, maybe like a heavy book. This should force the armor inward and together.

    Hope this helps

I had a similar issue with my calf and used a large clamp to squeeze the calf into a flat shape that then allowed the clamps to get a tight lock on the seam
