  1. Yay!, I have a tracking number :)

Here's a couple of quote's from my emails concerning the upgrades.

"These new shoulder, chest and back will make this the most accurate AM2 run yet, and will be able to be built to level 3 standards for the FISD which hasn't been able to be done w/ all original parts."

"This chest is much more accurate and will meet all levels of requirements for all tiers of the FISD."

I knew when I was considering which armour to buy, the thought of going for Centurion was at the back of my mind, I did not want to put all this effort into a set, then not quite make it to Centurion.

of course that being said, a lot depends on my building skills

Congrats on getting your armor shipped.  I'm a bit nervous as well about assembling my armor, but I'm confident that going to garrison events and getting a look at the armor up close along with help from other garrison members that it should turn out alright.  Measure a million times before you cut. ;)

  2. Hi Francois,

I sent a message through the Contact Us page on the website but I've heard nothing back. Is there another way to make an order?

If I've read correctly, he is based in China.  Depending on where you live, it might be a different time of the day.  I contacted him through the Contact Us page and got a quick response, so give him a sec and I'm sure you'll hear back.

  3. I would also recommend checking out the HWT pack build by Templar726.  I used a combination of materials and ideas from both him and ukswrath, and could not be more pleased with the results!  One of the advantages of going HWT (not that I am biased) is that you can bounce back and forth between characters.  If you are looking to be the occasional HWT, (as I do), I would suggest not permanently attaching your drop boxes, but rather use snaps to attach them to your belt, as they are not permitted for that armor.  If I can be of any further assistance for your HWT aspirations, just PM me..  And yes, the HWT pack IS a fun build!!!

You guys have been a lot of help, thanks.  I think for the time being I'm going to focus on getting approved as a TK and start trooping.  Then if I decide to go the HWT route, I can pick your guys brain.  There is also a garrison member in my area who might be able to help, so that will be a great resource.

  4. Yes, if you want to build a Heavy Weapons Trooper, the Game styled pack is required now in the CRL.

Never be afraid to ask questions, we love questions.

I get that there is the Sandtrooper pack and the Game styled pack, my question is what is the differences between the two?  What makes the two packs different in terms of pieces that go on the pack?

  5. Hey, so I'm still pretty new here and despite my research, I can't seem to figure out what the differences are between a HWT backpack and a Stormtrooper backpack.  After all my research, I think HWT is what I want to build and I think it looks pretty awesome.

Any help is much appreciated.  And if this information is elsewhere, I apologize in advance.

  6. Experts, keep me honest here:

As a relatively new researcher, what I think here is that either of these kits CAN make you Centurion approvable. It all depends on how well you finish them, since they seem to come unfinished. They seem to have all the necessary elements from the CRL, so a good finishing job SEEMS to make you Centurion approvable.

As for resin vs. rubber, resin will be easier to clean up, glue and paint. Rubber will be less so. Resin will feel more "real", but rubber will be more durable. With resin, the details will be more sharp, more crisp; with rubber, more "soft". Resin can easily be cut, shaped, and dremeled. Rubber can't even be sanded. I see a lot more resin on these forums than rubber. I would not share a Centurion-approved blaster with my kids. That's why I grabbed a Rubie's for practice.

For my money, I'd go resin.

    Good luck!

    Bill

Thanks for the thoughts. For the record, I don't plan on sharing my blaster with my kids but you never know what will happen to your stuff when they are around.

Look in to the THG Props resin, or unbreakeable E-11's. They are really nice.

So I'm still new to this, but what are the pros and cons of resin vs. rubber.  I would think rubber would be more durable, especially since I have little children.  Can either of these from the etsy make Centurion?
