  1. For any of my fellow AM builders, I have yet to make my first cut or any progress on my kit.  I went to a garrison event today as support staff and not only got some in-person looks at a final kit, but I also got to network with my garrison.  I am tentatively scheduled to meet up with some next Saturday to work on my kit and another kit in the garrison.  Can't hurt to have experienced hands show me the ropes.  Assuming that armor party happens, I'll have more to share next Saturday!

Keep up the good work everyone!

  2. This is a great thread.  Definitely could be a cheaper option for sure with a little work.

    My questions

    1. How has this held up since you've had it?  Any repairs that you have had to perform?

    2. I've looked, but didn't find Amsterdam boots on the CRL.  Where does it say they are approved?

    3. How comfortable are these during a longer troop?

    Thanks for all the help!

  3. Hi kirk I make rubber blasters in the uk and there pretty durable and bounce well to be honest the look on the little one faces when you let them hold the blaster is price less and the mums and dads I like the fact that is rubber and if it's dropped not to many things to worry about

Do you mind sending me a PM with prices and any website links?

  4. Welcome and good luck!  I'm with you, just got my AM kit and looking to start but hesitant to not screw up an expensive purchase.  But as been said, measure a few times, then cut.  When in doubt, ask first.  And get together with you garrison as much as possible, maybe even offer to host an armor party.  With patience, I'm sure you'll get your TK number soon enough!

  5. Agreed.  AM is for your "bigger troopers".  I'm 6'4", about 220 lbs., and a 38" waist.  Another garrison member is finishing his AM build and IIRC, he is 6'3, and about the same measurements as me.  Make sure to read up on the sizes that these armors fit before committing.

  6. I've heard pretty good things, and you can check out the following thread as well:

For whatever reason, I've had a hard time getting him to respond by e-mail.  I asked a question about sizes and took maybe half-day to get the measurements when he responded.  Haven't got another response yet, but other than that, nothing but good things.  Good luck!

  7. Like many others here, I also received my big brown box today containing AM 2.0 armor.  Communication with the seller was excellent and the box/armor pieces arrived in great condition.  I'm really excited to get started.

Anyways, can't wait for all your feedback on my build.  I'm attending a garrison event this weekend as a spotter or support staff, so I'm going to wait until after that to start my build as I still need some supplies and I want to get an in-person look at a completed set of armor.

    Cheers!

  8. Josh is spot on with that suggestion, Kirk. I use a Husky, which ran about 60 bucks on sale at Home Depot, and well worth it. I also added some 1 inch thick foam padding to the inside walls and bottom to keep things from being knocked around.

By the way, where did you find the 1 inch foam padding?
