So... that "clamshell" male snap, is that merely decoration now? You still use use snaps from the interior, right?
-
Ok. Thanks. Tomorrow, I'll pick up my "brown box" at AP's. So i'm getting nervous about assembly. Quite nervous :s

Rivet placement is giving me a headache If I'm correct, I see 6 rivets on the left side (3 ab + 3 kidney). But the right side pics usually show a single snap-like piece at the top of the ab plate. Am I right?

How is the fit? Are the boots true to size?
I normally wear US10.5 or 11 (depending on the shoe/boot brand). Since these boots seem to be on the slim side, I ordered 11 (EUR45) to be sure. And yes... they fit very well.

This is actually the first piece of equipment I got that is white. The armour will come soon

Got my order from Imperial Boots! Superb, and they fit so well
Contacted the guy (who replied in perfect French for me!)... and within 24-hrs I had my postal tracking number. Sweet!
So if you need boots for your TK, TB, TD, CT, TR or whatever... go to http://imperialboots.com
Cheers!

Another awesome AP tread to read and re-read while waiting for my AP brown box to arrive

But is you plan to have stuff glued inside (or velcroed)... would it be better to do that first so that these are not 'on' the paint? That means I'd need to paint around these parts too (so no spray).

I wrote to DoppyDoos this week. I asked about international shipping (I'm in Canada). They replied that they have been unable to get the DLT-19 past Canadian customs. I guess it looks too much like a real firearm replica and our government doesn't like it.

Hi,
I have seen a few posts from people who have painted the inside of their helmet black. Is there an advantage of doing it? (more opaque? better against the Sun?, etc.)
Thanks
PS: Sorry for still calling it a "helmet". I haven't adopted the funnier "bucket" terminology yet

I am expecting my AP "brown box" in a week or 2. This tread is awesome!!!! I will read it and re-read it again. Thanks for sharing

Thanks all for the replies. After some more research, I dediced to go with Karin's latex hand guards.

Hi,
I know the hand guards should be latex or "latex-like" material. I'm not sure what "latex-like" means really.
On Trooperbay (and elsewhere), I've seen plain latex hand guards, which need to be painted white. But they also have white rubber hand guards that don't need painting and won't crack. Are the latter acceptable for Centurion level? Or do we really need the plain, painted ones?
Thanks

That's what I was looking for. Great! I just ordered the exact same one. Thanks for sharing

I'm not a 501 legion member yet (soon... soon...), but it was nice to meet some of you guys at the Montreal Mini Comic Con today! Thanks to Eric (TK 37427) for being so friendly and helpful. My daughters loved you guys too. They even wanted me to get them light-sabres after. I'll continue to work on bringing them on the Empire's side
Cheers!

Ahhhh. MUCH better! Thanks guys

So.... the helmet tube stripes should be Mediterranean Blue... NOT French Blue.... Am I right?

Ok, we've seen jokes about how useless Stormtrooper armor is in the movies. Is it just me or is the Search box in the upper right hand of the forums page kind of useless also? I never find anything with it. Even if I specifically put an obvious keyword that is part of a forum article title I saw... the search won't find the article. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

Thanks guys. I'll let you know how it goes

Thanks for the tips. I have contacted Keith for the Mic Tips.. but no reply yet.

Thanks. Luckily, AP offered me to get my pieces trimmed or untrimmed. I asked for trimmed for my first armour. I prefer not to take chances. He said I'll get all the armour and helmet pieces, and what's needed to assemble them. Of course, I'll have to provide tools and glue. And paint for the helmet and buttons on the belly. The boots, belt, holster, blaster, aker/iComm set, and neckseal are already ordered. The undersuit I have. So it will be a matter of checking out the videos and hope for the best.
-
Ok. I think I need to find tutorials on how to assemble the armor once I get my pieces from AP.

Oh man.... I'm afraid to ask.... Clamps? Magnets?

Sorry... Didn't work this time

Hi everyone,
TK-???? here (I know... I can't wait to get my ID). This arrived today! "Arrived" is not quite exact. I live about 20 minutes away form AP. So I picked it up myself and saved time, shipping, time, stress, and time
And so it begins...
