Welcome to the FISD!
Walt makes a great kit and don't worry about messing something up. We all make mistakes that can be fixed. Plus Walt offers parts
Do your research, ask some questions, have fun along the way!

hi , thanks for your input, I'm just floating suggestions about regarding the boots, I have forwarded the the pics to my armourer & I'm currently awaiting a reply, personally I don't think I will have a problem with them popping out from under my shins as I'm only 5'7" ! lol ! cheers & thanks again
It has nothing to do with height. They can pop out from under shin while you're walking. I like most have velcro on the inside of front of shin and on front of top of boot to help hold them in place.
Good Luck in your search!

Hi , thanks for your reply, the boots I require really need to be Faux leather for ethical reasons, I will see if I can find some passable Chelsea boots ( to dye white) that are made from PU leather. thanks again
Try Crowprops. I believe I read Giovanni makes boots from faux leather as an option.
You can find him on Facebook.
Good Luck

Welcome Kody
It can seem a daunting task putting together a TK. But it's not as hard as it looks. Take your time, it's not a race. Do plenty of research, yup homework and ask ANY questions you have. We're here for you.

Pressure? Me? (Well, perhaps a little). I look at it this way.. Theoretically, HWTs are deployed directly onto front lines, where (unlike a TK stationed on a ship) we are exposed to lots of enemy fire from all manner of weapons. Having that extra weathering (battle damage) is part of what makes us unique (along with being able to carry BFGs, lol) which is why the CRLs require it at Expert Infantry level and above. Otherwise, you kinda' look like a first-time HWT that just stepped off of the transport ship.
And sadly those clean newbies get dropped immediately. But boy they looked clean doing it.
All serious now. Thanks for the cover!

I'd recommend the SS snaps. When wearing armor for awhile you will sweat. The Stainless wont rust. And as for wear and tear. If you take your armor apart to pack it up. You will do alot of snapping over the course of the lifetime of your armor.

Your new revisions look great. The clips for tube are definitely different. But look cool. Just paint the screw heads before going into battle Only thing I noticed is your tube strap model has 7 ridges. The game model and I believe CRL has 5.
Looking foward to seeing you finish this up. More HWT's the better

Just one washer on the inside.

You're doing a great job so far. For the rivets go the other direction and let the nub sit on the inside. I'd also recommend a rivet washer for the backside. More coverage for holding the better. Keep up the good work and we'll keep following along. You're getting there!
