  1. thanks. i will get the brackets for the simple reason i seen a few do's and dont builds on youtube and the builds that dont have the brackets fall apart and the brackets just look a whole lot nicer. i am going to treat this kit like a life size model or those old star wars 3d puzzle kits. speaking of which i will never put together the star destroyer or the death star 3d puzzle ever again. hurry up kit so i can break out the dramatic music and lightning and scream "its alive"
  2. yes it does a lot. with a lot of things going on i even confused grape soda and gatorade from a distance. sometimes its good to have an extra set of eyes or second opinion when the body wants to play jedi mind tricks. and thanks again
  3. I'm not sure if i have this in the right place. I'm making this while waiting for my kit to come in. i have talked to a lot of people that say i should really aim for centurion level and i have to say to those people thanks and i will once i have a little more money saved up for a mass shopping spree. so while I'm waiting i have a question and needing help . if i dont reply instantly its because im currently working 2 jobs thanks to budget cuts. questions and help 1. i am aiming for basic at the moment due to said problem and I'm looking for cheap and good quality items in my local stores. i have found a few items in my local joanns and hobby lobby that are in the centurion category. so to save time in money can i add the items to the build so i don't have to add them later? 2. i was browsing amazon for white shoes and i found a pair from a company called funtasma. i found a review that said it was good for basic but the review was pretty old and i dont know if anything for this shoe has changed here is a link https://www.amazon.com/Funtasma-Trooper-12-Combat-White-Polyurethane/dp/B00IK6Q30W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486008776&sr=8-1&keywords=tk%2Bboots&th=1&psc=1 3. i also checked out the drskin and i like the shirt my question is the pants. i cant tell the difference in the listing on amazon outside of price maybe someone can who has bought from this company can tell me what if missing something or not or if i have been pulling to many hours and finally lost my mind since i never bought clothes from amazon and i want to get it right the first time. link 1 https://www.amazon.com/DRSKIN-DABB11-Tight-Compression-Running/dp/B00RMG305C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1486006902&sr=8-2&keywords=drskin%2Bcompression%2Bpants&refinements=p_89%3ADRSKIN&th=1&psc=1 link 2 https://www.amazon.com/DRSKIN-Compression-Shirts-Running-Leggings/dp/B01MA5EOAF/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1486006902&sr=8-9&keywords=drskin%2Bcompression%2Bpants&refinements=p_89%3ADRSKIN&th=1&psc=1 thanks for those who will take the time to read this. i thought id ask what was on my mind while i'm waiting for it to arrive. if i need to give more detail to my questions im more than happy to do so. once the kit comes in i'll post pics and update. im kinda exited its like buying one of those life size model kits. i cant wait
  4. i always love to learn new things. i have always asked for help when im stuck on something. i remember the first time i touched a model kit it was a advanced level gundam back when gundam was easily found at model shops and walmart. the instruction sheet was left field so i asked my father for help and we spent the whole day putting together a glue based kit. now im planning on doing the same thing with the exception tape and tools far more advanced than a knife, scissors and old fashioned model glue. so outside of the straps and elastic parts what tools should i look for while stores are fighting to be number one this year. i know i will need a sharper pair of scissors and big tube glue ( cant remember the name off hand) and various grits of sand paper to shave off the burs from cutting. oh please wise guru's educate this novice (me) on his shopping list for tools. is it sad that after an hour of reading the FB group i lost all interest and felt a little lost? i also remember what my old man told me when building that model " measure twice or more depending on pieces and cut once because there is no point in spending money on a model kit just for one part you mess up on." who knows maybe i can get my grandfather to join us on this build since he has been doing models longer than both of us.
  5. i will and again thanks. due to all of the crazyness of 2016 there are somethings i forgot about and the kit was one of those things i forgot about until rogue one and my boss pre ordering things for star wars day at eastern IL university. now all that i need to do is get on that reservation list for the kit.and while im waiting maybe i can work on a few of my other costumes from marvel and dc for the upcoming con in april. its a little funny that when anovos announced the kit everyone was talking about it and there wasnt a real waiting list for order because people thought they were blowing smoke and now its like trying to get a ticket see rogue one. well thanks and i wish you a happy holiday and a peaceful new year
  6. thanks. i didnt want to spend money on the kit if it was more pricey version of a cheap Halloween costume from walmart or party city. now i know that i need to ditch the soft parts. when i and like others first heard the news i was like it had to be to good to be true and it was for the soft parts. all im looking for is just a basic kit that will fit a tooth pick like myself and to make my retired navy grandfather show off his inner star wars nerd. as for as assembly goes its not a problem because i expected to put it together like a model kit. now time to hit the local sporting good stores and walmart for the pants and shirt and amazon (if i remember right ) for the shoes while sales are going on and ill also hit the vendors here on the forum in if need anything else. i also have your anovos build thread saved. side note anything else i should avoid with this kit and store brands or vendors you recommend for the soft soft parts and blaster?
  7. well to start off happy holidays and a new year. now that the greetings are done i need a quick recap due to life hitting hard this year with family dying and being laid off, 1. is the kit worth the price for a noob 2. is it legion approved. last time i was on here the kit was with the soft parts were on the debate because last time i was on anovos just announced the kit and at the time there was a lack of info on it. in advance thanks and i wish everyone happy holidays and a new year and thank those that have to work on these holidays.
  8. i've been out of the anovos tk loop for a few months. sooo is it worth the 700.00 (adding to the nearest hundred for a cushion just in case something happens) to order and build and speaking of builds is there a page for the anovos armor build and armor approval? if this is in the wrong place feel free to delete it or whatever.
  9. its very tempting to buy for non legion stuff like parties or collage parades. but that is just my opinion from a person with so little cash. T-T
  10. i know how you feel msuguy1984 when i read the specs the thing that got me was the jumpsuit part. it looks good if you need to get this for simple functions. but for it to be legion approved that is the question. i guess someone need to buy it and give it a yes or no for the approval of the legion requirement list.
  11. i have nothing to add because im saving for my first kit. since the topic is size difference which one would be a better buy for a dude whose 5 ft 7 in and is considered a tooth pic man?
  12. thanks for the help sorry for the over load. been busy from selling items to buying items along with the normal joys of Christmas. some of the stuff i wasn't to sure on i came across the bleach idea after i tripped over a jug of bleached and magically turned my nice navy blue work boots to a lighter blue. the other questions were more on the lines of not ruining the armor or the clothes with chemicals that eat thru the material. had that happen to me once building a model and i grabbed the wrong glue and that was 40 down the can but on the bright side of that accident it helped someones diorama of a star wars mobile suit gundam cross over. again thanks and happy holidays
  13. i know i probably skimmed the forum and missed something so im going to go ahead and ask this and write everything down so i dont forget when i do my shopping the next few month thank god for sales. ok to start of with the fabrics i dont have a sewing maching so most of this is going to be done by needle. the fabric shopping is for the neck seal and gloves. i plan to hit joans and other stores in one go. i know most people buy the gloves for membership but is it acceptable to make your own if you have small hands like mine for basic membership? the reason this will tell me how much fabric i need to buy. i love pandatroopers tut on the neck seal and that leads up to the second question for the neck seal does style matter for making the neck seals because really love panda's style . since i dont have a machine does anyone one know what kind of thread and needles i need to buy to make work with the material and what kind of material should i be looking for for the neck seal and bib shown in pandatroopers tut (and gloves if they are approved). i read about the amount of glue but are there any brands i should buy or avoid when im assembling the armor and padding. if i found the boots would bleach work on turning them white or would that be a waste of money for the belt i read about how the vendor uses canvas to make it. are there tuts on how to make the basic belt before you add the kits parts. i know this is not a supply question but i read that the suits are hot and people put fans in the helms to stay cool in the summer time are there methods to stay warm in the winter such as thermals that can be worn under the suit that wont ruin the over all look and where can i hide a candy bar or something of that nature because i have hypoglycemia. also does the manufacturer of the compression pants and shirt matter because my walmart is always sold out of under armor but not starter and my local hibbit sports store prices are way to high. thanks for reading sorry if its to little or to much been recovering from little sleep
  14. one of the many pics from the EIU homecoming parade i loved how the wig and the suit turned out but when it came to the mask i was running out of cash lycra not a forgiven medium to work with well i guess i need to go back to art class

  15. cant wait to see you in armor. im still deciding on which one for a basic entry into the legion. the 2 i cant decide between is ATA or AP. i guess ill message both for a price quote and decide which one fits my limited budget till work picks back up again.
  16. well like the others im still new been doing constant research on google since Oct. i plan to build my armor my original plan was to make the molds and the table and then out of no where the trailor court posted a notice that says crafting tables have to be inside or in a shed and since both area's are kinda full. i am also trying to get in touch with my garrison for my area but i am waiting to get approved by someone so i can follow the instructions that the person who run the facebook page gave me. i have to find cheap affordable armor with helm that can get me into the legion. with the help of dark cmf he suggested that i go with AP armor since i am 5 ft 7in and weight at constant flux of 170 to 175 (weight can change due to hi matabolism) and waist of 33. the other part of my question is would ATA also work. i dont want to bug to man people for a price quote. i dont need to know the numbers just who is cheaper to get a set of armor with helm i can do all of the other stuff that dont need a vacuum table. thanks for the help and if someone wants to give me a the price comparisson you can pm or email me at shamankid91692@yahoo.com i dont want to cause any problems and have a wonderful holiday season.
  17. thanks ill start getting price quotes after the holidays or at least after thanksgiving. so what does a standard armor with helm cost basically i just need the plastic parts and anything that i cant use a needle or sewing machine on. i dont mind if i have to trim it either. i read that its cheaper to build the table and the molds at first i was going to do it then the trailer court sent out a notice about how all crafting tables of any kind has to be put in a shed or in the house. well the shed would work if it wasnt full with stuff and the home is to small shoot it can barely fit a family of 6. yea im stayine with my parents as a free housing for collage going into the game design and software creator and from time to time im the babysitter. yes the somewhat lovable older sib. well of to fabric pricing at the local joans in mattoon. wow im already forgetting stuff. will i guess thats to be expected last min cleaning of everything and planning.
  18. well i can give the height, the weight and waist i need to redo. the last set of measurements are 33 for waist and barely 175 for weight. my height is 5 foot 7. the weight and waist are about 4 years old. i'll give a more updated version after the crazyness that is thanks giving.
  19. will do the measurements after thanksgiving. all of the food that comes around once a year and again thanks for the help. so for the body type (due to various definition by retailers/tailors.) do you want the hight and width? just making sure i have the right definition dont want it to be a tmi situation and happy thanksgiving and i hope yall enjoy this holiday and the next. oops i forgot to add that i am not planning to become a distributer at the current moment but eventuall. the other reason im asking what materials are needed is because i know when i start to build this i will be swarmed in younger sibling and 70+ year old men and maybe a few cousins who will be asking me to make them a set of armor for what ever reason. i want any and all help i can get to make this armor last for at least 10 years.
  20. if this is in the wrong section i am sorry. i want to make my armor from scratch i can do all of the fabric work but i don't know what materials i need to make the armor i have read most of the tuts in my free time in between studying for my collage entrance tests. i read on some how to's on the net and one site says filled your mold with foam another says plastic and for some odd reason a tut on how to make the armor our of card board. i need to get this done by Oct for a charity event that my collage does for kids with mental illness. if there is a supply list somewhere on the forum and i missed it my bad. thanks for reading my nut ball of a topic and thanks in advance for helping me. Oh, the armor design im going with is from a new hope and i wish to make it a decent enough quality that it can get approved by the 501st. again thanks for reading.
