  1. You will definitely be able to tell the difference. Check out starwarshelmets.com for a good comparison of the two and lots of close up photos!
  2. The Star Wars Visual Dictionary claims that Stormtrooper armor protects them from "the vacuum of space". For short periods anyway.
  3. I can't help but agree with TK-9135. I personally differentiate "screen accurate" and "prop accurate" because of the (often) large difference between what we see on screen, (under lights, make up, camera angles, post prod touch up etc etc..) and what the built prop actually looks like straight from the workshop. You needn't be an expert in the hobby to establish this - anyone who's ever been to planet hollywood know hows cruddy most props look in real life. They may have needed that exact look to get the "screen" appearance as it was - but if one is displaying these things at home or taking them trooping, we don't have the same controls on the viewers focus that a film director has. Thus a prop accurate to what we see on screen is not necessarily the same thing as a prop accurate to the props department storeroom... To me anyway
  4. I'll certainly concede a lack of knowledge here as a newcomer, but having read this on going argument here, in other posts and even other prop forums I've learnt only one thing - I'll never buy armour from either Gino or TE
  5. Oh hell YEAH! how could I forget Dark Forces...man that was the bsuiness...
  6. Course maybe it wasn't in the trilogy... Maybe your friend/relative/lover/neighbor/lawyer got a suit and you went "I got's to get me some o that!" Tell us all your stories people - how did you come to be here?
  7. Was there any particular moment (or moments) in the trilogy that sparked the initial desire for everyone here to get the armor? For me it started when I was 5 and (weirdly enough) it was the end of ROTJ when the Ewoks are playing drums on the left over helmets... something about seeing them off the troopers being handled like that just made me latch on to the idea of abandoned armor and made me go "I MUST have some of that one day..." I mean I always loved the TK's but THAT's what made me realise I wanted the armour for myself...
  8. Haha! I'm with you on that. They couldn't hit water from a boat - the first thing the first stormtrooper boarding the Tantive 4 does is die, en entire legion gets hammered by a bunch of teddy bears.... I mean come on! Elite Troops! But then again Boba Fett is supposed to be the galaxies most feared Bounty hunter and the dude dies by being accidently hit by a blind man with a stick!
  9. Dear General Assembly, If I had the email contact for a certain maker but did not know him personally would it be considered poor form to email, or is a PM the done thing? Thanks, Lucas
