  1. Thanks Joseph! I'll let her know and I'll update it here on how it turns out.
  2. Thanks for the comments. I haven't been up to see it in person yet but I'll buy some compound and bring it to her this weekend. It's really weird and she is freaking out. Any recommendations on what compound to buy that might work best?
  3. This is a pic of my friends AM ESB chest plate. She is a member of the 501st and just saw this today when she took it out of her bin. She said it is not something on the armor but it looks like it is fading from the the white to this black under color. Has anyone seen this before and what do you guys suggest for repair as she is not at all interested in doing a TD. Just in case that was someones suggestion ;-) Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

  5. Big thanks to jedinite who passed along his coupon code and just in time for my Birthday tomorrow! I just placed my order and now have one of my own to pass along so whoever PM's me first it's yours. Expires two weeks from today though so if you don't use it pass it along again to someone else. Lets keep this going, great job troopers!! ...the emperor would be proud lol
  6. Need an anovos code if anyone has one please PM and I will reciprocate the trooper honor code of helping fellow troopers. I will post received when I get it so I don’t receive more than one. Thank you.
  7. Until I saw this post I thought mine was the only one that was off and it's actually off on the same side as yours. I haven't attempted to fix it yet, but a guy from the armor party I was at on Sunday suggested that I start out by simply switching sides with the tips or placing something under the tip to prop it up before I start any drilling. That is always a last resort. Hope this helps. I'll update with some before and after pics when I get done with mine. Good luck.
  8. If you haven’t yet, find your local 501st garrison and sign up on the message boards and try to find a local armor party to attend. It will get you on the right path and help you on your build a lot. It helped me and you get to meet a lot of cool like minded people.
  9. Yeah I got in contact with Tim and I'll be going to the AP in Ocala on Sat. I should get a lot more done and learn a lot more as well. Also a couple of my fingers on my right hand are a little numb and callused from all the cutting on Sunday lol. I think that AP got me the fever for this and I'm already thinking I want to do a sandy in the future :-)
  10. Good tips Joseph, especially on the clear plastic film that covers the armor which you pointed out to me on Sunday. It would seem so obvious yet I haven't heard anyone else talk about it yet. So prob need to get that out to other noobies like myself lol. Also have fun on your build gazzadavis8 and good luck Sir!
  11. At Vader34. I'm in the same boat. Never put together a kit, but here goes nothing! Lol. I've decided on buying two kits at that price and make a reg one and the other a sandtrooper. How can I pass it up?! Been doing research on boots, tkboots.com and imperialboots.com. As far as blasters go I'm still a little stumped. RS makes one rspropmasters.com as well as SDS originalstormtrooper.com that I like. (Sorry forgot to add links) I might hold off for now incase ANOVOS comes out with some. -Eric
  12. So I haven't been on since I joined up (hello real life) been going through a divorce and just now finally having time and the money to purchase a helmet and armor and start my new hobby. I'm not sold yet on the TFA EP7 helmets and now after reading someone post that they look like a duck, its now stuck in my head lol. Back now to the original TK ANH Stormtrooper :-) Question, for the senior troopers in here. I was quoted last year from RS for a fully completed set was almost $2,200 but when I look on their site now its down to $1,576 converted to US dollars which includes the E-11 blaster and boots and all necessary accessories. Well, that was all before I found out a friend of a friend is a 501st troop leader and can help me build a kit and I just found out about the ANOVOS Stormtrooper kit for $350...again I say $350! Even if I try to find a way to compare apples to apples with the ES kit with unfinished helmet its $815! no accessories. I think I'm answering my own question as I'm typing lol. I could buy two ANOVOS kits for under the price of one ES kit. I guess it all comes down to quality. Which is yet to be seen from ANOVOS. Choices, choices. any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.
