  1. Oh man i can bend much at all lol! Doesnt help that everythings just taped up and keeps coming undone either. I may put a small piece of foam behind the sniper plate before gluing it so it doesn't get caught under my thigh. I really had to fight that COD for proper placement! Ended up just cutting the bottom after my test fitting was done. I may go ahead and glue the cover strip on half of the calf and get the velcro going. Still trying to conquer that in my head lol. Since my cars not driveable I had to call in to work, so guess i get to play with armor a bit
  2. Okay so i tried to get that cod up as high as comfort allows, but had an issue with the extra flap underneath(have not trimmed it prior to test fitting my legs)... This is what I got. Also just taped the sniper knee down(its on the left leg if anyone gets confused by the mirrors reflection) I will probably end up cutting the top of the back on the shins a bit and also the bottoms backs of the thighs to allow movement. I dropped my phone before snapping pics, and lemme tell ya, it felt like a turtle on his back, STANDING UP! Lol i now have a newfound respect and appreciate handlers even more at this point!
  3. Thanks Jason. Was also curious if anyone here had experience with the characters first hand
  4. Just thought I would share my Nurse outfit from 2 years ago. First time i have ever put a costume together from scratch. Im a wee bit dark to portray him properly, as it made my make up look even whiter in contrast lol. I also had to settle for a Rubies joker wig that i tried to make work. It was DEFINITELY a fun costume to wear! When leaving for a halloween party i was so excited to get out i forgot my wallet. All i had as anyform of ID was a joker card from an old incomplete bicycle deck lol. Thank Sidious I didn't get pulled over!!! Me and my now wifey Me and a buddy Slappin da baaaasss mon! I also even made a detonator using scrap from work and an old car charger. Worked wonders as the button could actually be pushed!
  5. Title says it all, anyone here have experience with this? I tried convincing her to do Mara Jade, but she is wanting to make a Nightsister
  6. I will probably stay home tomorrow. My wifes car decided to overheat and i can't touch the radiator cap until its completely cooled off. And I am NOT dealing with all them mosquitos outside lol. Perhaps when my armors done they will finally leave me alond
  7. We could always meet in Centerville and do an exchange! Lol
  8. Hold on a sec, you have two left shins, i think I have two right shins
  9. Looking good bro! And yes contact AM immediately for a replacement set of shins
  10. The main thing you will have to do is try to think how our shins and calves appear from the front. You want the "bulgier" or more muscular side on the insides, and the straighter sides on the out.
  11. Man if i lived alone my armor would have been done weeks ago lol. Just remember i too am new to building, so i am no expert . Good thing about being slimmer than the larger trooper is that there is plenty of extra ABS for cover strips and shims!
  12. Good deal then. Whats your height and weight if you dont mind me asking? Im 5'10 180-185 lbs, and have the exact same kit. I had to trim quite a bit off myself lol
  13. Dude i highly appreciate the head up on this one! Will be a fun prop to bring around for sure!
  14. Quite potentially getting to end of my magnet party...going to velcro the backs using the cover strip trick for the shins. In the mean time, got the fronts shimmed together right now. And now the waiting game continues! I have an exclusive mail in dioramma of the cantina, which is whats behind these music lovers, but debating whether or not to actually open it up and use the background(its never been assembled or punched, i have the receipt of the original purchaser too). But there ya have it, for now. Gotta find something to wrap the ammo belt to match the curve of my thigh. Then onto gluing the sniper knee onto the shin. Once the fronts of the shins are nice and cured, ill shoot some pics for everyones viewing pleasure
  15. Looks like a tight fit from what I can see. did you cut the return edges from the bottoms of the bicep btw? How is your movement? Restrained at all?
  16. Okay, so I did have a little time for touch ups on my helmet. Cleaned up the vocoder and rounded it off a tad bit, touched up the ears(no pics of that as it was simply a small touch up), and painted the far edges on the frown to get that point. Vocoder Frown AND I got the backs of my thighs shimmed up. Now to set those aside until tomorrow night, and I will get to shimming the fronts of my shins! And as always, input(whether positive OR negative) is always greatly appreciated!
  17. Your welcome for the inspiration Mr Darth Aloha lol Glad ya made it a reality!
  18. Thanks to a squad mate, got the trimming done in my thighs and shins! Time was rather limited, but it was MUCH easier having a helping hand than guessing, as i do not seem to have eyes on the back of my head...peculiar isnt it?? Thigh fronts being shimmed. And calves wrapped in tape for test fitting. I used pretty much all of my magnets on my thighs, so they will just have to sit here while i get the thighs completely finished up. Again, I am holding off on cover strips JUST incase i need any further adjustments after everything is trimmed. As this is my first build, i am using E6k all the way to the finish line. Perhaps my next build I will use something with a quicker cure time. In the mean time, I will hopefully begin trimming my chest, back, kidney, and COD, in no particular order, while the legs are finishing up. Or perhaps i will work on my extra helmet
  19. Wowzers! Lol that does suck indeed! Now your making me hesitant to paint my sons clone trooper blaster lol.
  20. Well, i was going to do some touch ups on my helmet, BUT my testors gray paint somehow exploded. Perhaps a crack in the glass, or I simply did not put the lid back on right...needless to say I will try to get on that tomorrow. Kinda frustrating! But at least its a cheap replacement!
  21. Thanks David! Still waiting for my blaster stand as well, still gotta touch up my helmet and start digging into my other TK helmet. Will be doing a lotta trimming to the rest of the armor tomorrow at a squad mates house. Hopefully all I will have left is shims, cover strips, and snaps after that
  22. Looking good bro!
  23. I used a toothpick to scrape off the excess on the edges. Looks like ill be adding a little paint maybe today. Gotta touch up my vocoder anyhow. As for the armor, im going to a squad mates house saturday to attempt to knock out the trimming at the very least
  24. I suppose I can paint that small corner and just leave the dimple white, or would it be best to just go ahead and paint it gray therefore extending the gray to the small point
