Okay, I have the following installed in my helmet for sound: Hyperdyne Pro Voice Amp http://www.hyperdynelabs.com/products_elec_troopVoicePro.php This connects to... a pre amp? I dont know what it is. It came with my first bucket. It has a big volume nob. I know that. Which then connects to a set of Stompers Hovis There is also another switch in there that I believe goes to the mic. I havent figured out how to make my voice sound "trooper-ish" (or I have and it just doent really work) I have it set so I use PTT and have the static burst. I found this works best since I couldnt figure out how to adjust it properly otherwise. (I also dont like that is has a laser fire sound when you tap the button real quick instead of holding it down, because sometimes I accidentally hit it when trying to talk) What I'd like is for it to be louder. Suggestions? Maybe I just dont have it wired up right. Or maybe I need to mount a chest speaker or something? I dont know what to do as I am not electronically inclined. Someone else installed this for me and they were only slightly more knowledgeable that I about it. Where is a good (inexpensive) place to get a chest speaker? I could really use some help though.

Thanks guys. I actually had a local trooper help me with the set up. I ended up going with some cpu cooling fans from Comp USA and a Lipo battery pack. Works great. No more air problems for this trooper! Thanks again for all the helpful info!

These NEED to be 501st approved. Even if only using a regular TK bucket instead of one of those. Either way, I'd be GLAD to see this as 501st approved armor. It's more along the lines of what I always envisioned a "sandtrooper" to be is a Stormtrooper Commando. Not to mention very similar to what I had in mind for my costume.. markings and equipment wise.

Hey all, I am looking to upgrade my fans. I've already got a couple fans in there. I need something powerful though to give me air in my bucket and to help keep my lenses from fogging. Hey guys, Im having problems with my sound in my helmet. I can hear it faintly comming through the speakers, but even then its distorted. Well, I got the Hyperdyne Pro Voice Amp. A pre-amp. And hovis (i think thats what the speakers are called. Bought them from a dude that makes them here and on MEPD.) I dont know where the problem is. It worked fine last time I tried it. (months ago..Dec, Jan?) I tried newer batteries. But that didnt make any difference. I think its either with the pre amp or the speakers. Any recommendations, advice, etc? Where can I get a new pre amp? I may just have to get a new one of those and another set of mic hovis.

Yeah, for some reason it doesnt appear to be on their website. I had it saved in my favorites. Not sure where I got if from either... but Im thinking maybe it came along with my amp.

Thanks man. I havent looked up the two guys in armor yet, but I did go through those links you posted. Thanks. To be honest... I dont see the big deal about making the mods. I mean, the part of the helmet where the "grey teeth" or frown or whatever is the only part I really notice the big difference on. That and where they fill in the one seem. I dont see what the diference is with the ears or the black "brow" strip. Maybe someone could clue me in? Do these HAVE to be moded to be 501st? Because (an no offense to any FX lid owners, I have one too) they look way better/more accurate/etc than the FX lid and that is accepted. I may try to do the mod on the frown (because I think that's the only mod that IMO makes a differnce really to the look of the helmet), but I dont know that I want to "fix" what I feel doesnt really need fixing. I hope I dont offend anyone or ruffle anyones feathers with those comments. That is not my intentions. I know from experience with other forums (not 501st so far, you guys all seem to be a real pleasant and accepting comuninty) that sometimes if you try to express an opinion that is contrary to certain people and those people jump out and practicaly beat you with a stick. lol Not you guys though.. y'all are COOL!

I think it should be 501st acceptable before the mods, let alone after. If the FX lid is, then this should definitely be if its not.

Wow! The MR looks SO NICE!! I like it better than the other one even. I prefer the "idealized" look to the "wonky" look personally. But both are cool in their own way.

I would like to see pictures of anybody that has the MR CE helmet so I can see what it looks like with the armor. Also... Ive read twice now about people taking the black stripe over the brow off. Why is that? Just preference or something problematic with the helmet? I have one that is to arrive on monday! I cant wait to get it!

We dont have a Dick's near us. We have... get ready for this... a K-Mart. <_< lol. There is a Wal-Mart about 30 minutes a way, but I didnt see anything there either.

Okay... so for for me this has been the hardest part... finding and picking the right under armor.. At this point, I am frustrated enough to just pay the outrageous prices for actual under armor... BUT... I dont know what to get? HeatGear for keeping cool right? So I decide, I had best go with HeatGear (for now at least). Then I see... LOOSE or FITTED... ah crap! Now which do I want? BTW try finding a small Under Armor long sleeve shirt and medium legging on ebay. I searched through over 1,000 auctions! I finially found a shirt, but it's loose fit, and I dont know if I need loose or fitted. And I cant find leggings in medium on there. Anyway... I hope this all makes sense. Its half frustrated rant and half plea for help. lol I was hoping to troop for the first time at the 4th of July Parade, but there isnt much chance of me getting this in time for that. Oh well... ::sigh::
